ASICS METASPEED Sky+: new features
The new METASPEED Sky+ from ASICS still have the innovative and reactive midsole construction with its FlyteFoam Blast Turbo cushioning compound and its recurrent carbon fibre plate. But there are nuances that represent a significant change with the idea of presenting a faster and more efficient model. Those changes reflect a greater amount of FlyteFoam Blast Turbo foam, up to 4% more than in the original model. While there is a new positioning of that carbon plate, which now appears higher up. A technological resource that helps to maximize energy return, and thus favor the propulsion phase of the ASICS METASPEED Edge+.
Additionally, there are aesthetic updates closely tied to changes in the color scheme of the ASICS METASPEED Sky+. A redesign of the shoe’s upper part introduces a new material that is lighter and more breathable, dubbed Motion Wrap by ASICS, contributing to the shoe's overall reduced weight. The model is now approximately 5 grams lighter than its predecessor, the ASICS METASPEED Sky.

To date, it is considered the fastest ASICS racing shoe and incorporates the latest in technology from the Japanese company with the aim of maximizing the running experience for the fastest runners looking to beat their best records in races ranging from a 5K to half marathon and marathon.
This second update to the vaunted ASICS METASPEED SKY, the ASICS METASPEED SKY +, with which Norwegian Kristian Blummenfelt (1:45:04) and Bermuda triathlete Flora Duffy (1:55:36) took gold in the Olympic triathlon event, brings with it a lot of great new features. I had the opportunity to test this model last April at the ASICS Meta Trials event in a very fast 5K through the streets of Malaga and the sensations have been brutal.

Obviously it is designed for elite athletics but thanks to the inclusion of a first class technological framework of FlyteFoam Blast Turbo foam and carbon plate, they become suitable for those popular runners who have good records.
Also, we must emphasize that they are designed for runners of weight or medium-low, so if our goal is to roll with them at paces higher than 4:30, we have a medium-high weight and we also heel, this model will not be very suitable. In other words, I am not the type of runner who can exploit the benefits of this racing shoe to the fullest...
What we liked the most about the ASICS METASPEED SKY +
Without a doubt this is a great shoe, not only from a technological point of view but also for its bold aesthetics and ambitious profile. This ASICS METASPEED Sky incorporates the latest in technology with the aim of maximizing the running experience of the fastest runners and that is why the presence of a greater amount of FlyteFoam Blast Turbo foam, up to 4% more than in the original model, and the new positioning of the carbon plate translates into a more efficient footprint.
As far as I'm concerned, I would highlight two very important points that have seduced me about this shoe. On the one hand, the firmness and propulsion offered by the plate, it is true that being inserted higher, you enjoy a greater energy return in running and that extra propulsion needed in lively rhythms.

Another of the great secrets of these METASPEED SKY + from ASICS Running is, for me, the construction of its upper. Very pleasant surprise the tongue and the lacing, a priori I thought it would come loose easily and would not offer a good fit; my fault, no but to put in these sections. Also, the new upper, cataloged as Motion Wrap is lightweight and very very breathable, points that I value very positively.
Possible improvements of the ASICS METASPEED SKY +?
I don't think I'm the right runner for these shoes, but in my opinion it's a somewhat hard shoe. Maybe I'm used to other models of racing shoes and that has been my feeling since I've worn them.
