Starting with the midsole, ASICS hasn't made any major changes in this ASICS Gel Excite 9. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The combination of AMPLIFOAM cushioning and GEL technology is there, providing greater durability and softer support in the footstrike. Thanks to the distribution of these two technologies, we also get more flexibility and comfort. The finishing touch is the ORTHOLITE insole, for greater comfort in the sole.
The upper has the biggest change compared to previous versions like the ASICS Gel Excite 8: it's made of a specially-designed jacquard mesh. This material increases airflow and provides a softer feel.
Last but not least, we have a rubber outsole, which offers the efficiency you demand. This is thanks to the GUIDANCE LINE technology, a vertical flex groove that untwists the design along the line of progression, to improve both efficiency and foot strike consistency.
