Salomon Aero Glide 2

Salomon was present at The Running Event (the largest sports retail fair), where the major brands presented their new models for 2024. One of Salomon's presentations at the fair (a revised version of a top model from last season) was the Salomon Aero Glide 2.

The Salomon Aero Glide 2 lands in the market as a running shoe that will continue to be one of the most prominent of the brand, especially within the fast and smooth trend that exists in the French company since the last season, as far as road running shoes are concerned.

Salomon Aero Glide 2: main features and innovation

Salomon continues its commitment to the running market with exemplary features, made to combine speed and a smooth tread. This is achieved thanks to models like the Salomon Aero Glide 2, a reissue that maintains the philosophy of the original, but improves on certain key aspects.

The upper of the shoe is updated with respect to the Salomon Aero Glide, to maximise one of the aspects that runners value most in running shoes for daily training such as comfort, with more padding in the heel, neck and tongue.

The mesh upper is thinner to accentuate that feeling of comfort (and also improve breathability and softness). It also provides qualities conducive to speed, thanks to its improved fit.

The Salomon Aero Glide 2 maintains the same compounds and technologies in the midsole (Energy Foam) and the outsole (Road Contagrip) of the first version, which achieved popularity among runners. The Rocker Reverse Camber geometry offers greater fluidity of movement and stability, and all this comes in a model with a 10mm drop and a total weight of 270 grams.

Ideal runner profile: Salomon Aero Glide 2

The new version of the Salomon Aero Glide has the aim of becoming the training shoes par excellence for runners of medium or high weight (over 80 kilos) who need a shoe with superior cushioning.

This is a shoe for running at medium paces (not excessively fast)- although you can squeeze the core if you have good technique. They will adapt perfectly to all types of runners.

Recommended distances: Salomon Aero Glide 2

We are talking about shoes for medium distances. They're fine to run marathons, although that wouldn't be their greatest strength. They are best suited for light paces, and distances of no more than 21 kilometres.

As for the drop, the 10mm of the first version remains the same, ideal for those daily workouts. In addition, the profiles of this running shoe for men and women are high (37.4mm in the rear and 27.4mm in the front of the shoe).
