It's normal, what works, you don't touch it, but sometimes and only sometimes, taking a risk is worth it. Today we analyze one of the most surprising running shoes with maximum cushioning that I have been able to test in all these years in RUNNEA. I'm talking about the On CloudMonster, a terrifying name for a brutal shoe in every way.
What type of runner are the On CloudMonster aimed at?
The On CloudMonster is a running shoes with maximum cushioning for running on asphalt. Aimed at runners of any weight who are looking for a maximalist model, with a very soft touch cushioning, a very comfortable shoe when you put it on. But do not be fooled by its design, its running performance is surprising in terms of its dynamism, especially if we look at its volume and structure. They are perfect for those runs at calm paces or medium paces in which, in addition to running protected, we seek to prioritize good sensations, to run at ease and at the same time protected. All this is offered to us with the maximum guarantees these On CloudMonster. A real treat for your feet and your joints.

What did we like most about the On CloudMoster?
It's probably one of those occasions when I've found myself reviewing shoes that I like in almost every aspect. It's a shoe that won 't let you down if you're clear about the target audience and the function for which they were designed. If they fit your type of training, I assure you that you will be very pleasantly surprised.
Let's start, as it can't be otherwise, with their midsole. The CloudTech system is no longer a novelty, but the arrangement of its "holes" and their geometry is. The result is very smooth transitions, very cushioned but without feeling soft. Its design with a rocket or higher forefoot than usual in On, translates into a very fluid stride cycle.
We also liked the upper and its good fit. With a modern design, top quality materials and an significant part of them recycled (about 35% of the shoes is made from recycled materials), their appearance is forceful but very careful. The arrangement of its lacing offers a very good fit. The heel area is padded and prevents foot movement during running. The insole is soft to the touch. It also on reflective elements to make the shoe visible in situations where we illuminate with little light.

Possible improvements for future editions
The only downside we have been able to put to these On CloudMonster is that we found a thermosealed area that joins the midsole with the upper, which has slightly peeled off with the passage of kilometers in the area of the front fold of the toe set.
The tongue is quite thin and if you tighten the laces too much you can feel the pressure of the laces in the highest part of the forefoot.
To put another downside, this one more at an aesthetic level, the model tested in white color gets dirty very easily with any friction you have with them.
