One of the fastest running shoes in the world of running arrives in stores on March 7 with the aim of once again breaking all the records in the world's main asphalt events. We are talking about the Nike Air ZoomX Vapprfly Next% 3 And at RUNNEA we had the opportunity to interview Elliott Heath, Nike Running Footwear Product Manager.

With him we talked about the differences with respect to the Nike Vaporfly Next% 2 and the new technologies applied in the fast running shoe from Nike.

We talked to him about the differences from the Nike Vaporfly Next% 2 and the new technologies applied to the Nike Flyer

Gorka Cabañas, RUNNEA: What would you consider the main changes we are going to find between the Nike ZoomX Vaporfly Next% 3 and the Next% 2?

Elliott Heath: Building on what we learned with the Nike Vaporfly Next% 2, we focused on refining the Vaporfly's lightweight design with improvements to meet the timeless needs of distance runners, including smoother transition, greater stability and more energy return.

In summary, the new Vaporfly Next% 3 features a smoother transition, improved stability and increased energy return on the run.

The new Vaporfly 3 's new upper features specially selected Flyknit yarns focused on specific areas of the forefoot.  A new thin rubber outsole is designed to use less material without sacrificing durability, and has allowed us to include more ZoomX foam under the outsole.

What do you see as the main point of improvement in this new version?

Our goal with the new Vaporfly 3 era is to improve its stability and transition, while giving athletes the energy return and propulsion they love about the Vaporfly.

Let's talk about weight. Where has the weight been reduced from?

The Nike Vaporfly Next% 3 is actually lighter than its predecessor. In the new design, we've essentially swapped out a couple of millimeters of rubber or outsole material for more ZoomX foam underfoot. So we have more ZoomX foam than ever in a Vaporfly, without having to change the overall structure of the shoe.

Is this model more stable than the previous one?

We have worked hard to improve the stability of the new Vaporfly 3. The new midsole design reduces the weight of the shoe with a convex shape in the midfoot area, giving you more support in the forefoot for a more stable running stride.

What type of runner are these shoes for: weights, distances, paces?

This update continues the Vaporfly's history as the workhorse for all types of road racing. It's the perfect shoe for athletes who choose it for fast training and of course for race day, from a 10K to a marathon.

While our elite athletes will always be our target for our racing models, we are testing these Nike Vaporfly Next% 3 more than ever with recreational runners to make sure we meet their needs as well.
