The new version of the PUMA Deviate Nitro Elite 2 flyer arrives, it lands with a strong footprint, significantly improving its previous version. This is the model that I have received from the RUNNEA team. I am delighted because it is a perfect model to improve my performance, and my times both in training and in upcoming races.
This model could be defined as a super shoe due to its characteristics and is probably the most versatile with carbon plate that the German company has.
The first impressions have been magnificent. Luckily I got a versatile running shoe that can be used for demanding competitions on asphalt, although that doesn't mean you can't use it sporadically for your training sessions.
What kind of runners are the PUMA Deviate Nitro Elite 2 for?
The Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 2 is an ideal model for experienced runners of intermediate weight, up to 65 kilos for women and 70 kilos for men, who are looking for a shoe to shave a few minutes off the clock on those race days, without losing comfort and stability.
This shoe is suitable for runners who run moderate to fast runs.
It is mainly intended, as we have already mentioned, for competitions at fast paces and sporadic training sessions of both medium and long distances. But it can also be used in training for changes of pace, series, or short runs.
This second version of PUMA 's Deviate Nitro Elite meets the expectations of the fastest runners.
What we liked most about the PUMA Deviate Nitro Elite 2
Everything! At first glance, the design stands out quite a bit. It's a shoe that surprises a lot when you try it, since it fulfills several important features.
Due to its design, when you put on this model the first thing that catches your attention is its thin, but slightly padded, tongue and the laces area. All designed to offer a better fit.
If we look at its upper, which is composed of a single piece, it has a rough but resistant feel. Something to ensure the breathability of the foot and its correct support. But I also want to highlight that this version brings with it the PWRTAPE system on its inner side. It is a strip, in the shape of an arch, which gives us a little more consistency in this area. With this I mean that the degree of support is noticed and felt in every kilometer you go.
I also underline that this second elite version of the fast Deviate Nitro has a padding in the rearfoot area to protect the heel, giving more security and support in this strategic point.
In addition, the high performance of these PUMA Deviate Nitro Elite 2 is reflected in the configuration of its midsole, composed of NITRO Elite Foam, with injected nitrogen, a very comfortable, soft touch, durable and lightweight material. This technological resource offers superior cushioning and responsiveness. And what to say about its PWRPLATE carbon fiber plate, it guarantees stability and maximum running efficiency.
Maximizing energy transfer, which translates into a feeling of extra momentum with every step.

Opportunities for improvement in the PUMA Deviate Nitro Elite 2
Although this model has far surpassed the previous version of the PUMA Deviate Nitro Elite. Perhaps, one point for improvement would be to widen the fit of the toe area. From my point of view it is too tight, and could present problems for runners with wider feet.
