Nike is betting heavily on women as the future of sport and key pieces of change, is making its largest investment to date in innovation and the result of this investment is born the Nike Motiva.

The Nike Motiva is a running shoe designed exclusively for women and that responds to all forms of movement, whether running or walking, with the aim of helping to make sports practice as pleasant as possible.

Nike Motiva, main features

The Motiva is a Nike running shoe that has been made after years of research at Nike Sport Research studying the pacing patterns of over 1,000 women, in a high percentage the pattern era stop-start-slow pace which are often the result of fatigue, causing discomfort and frustration.

The Nike Motiva is a shoe designed to enhance the running experience, so that training is enjoyable, and for this reason the shoe offers increased cushioning and momentum in the stride thanks to its rocker sole geometry.

Nike Motiva, main features

The upper of the Nike Motiva features a new fit, which is the result of tests that have shown that a narrow shoe is not the preferred fit for female athletes. Therefore, the Nike Motiva has a new last, with a wider forefoot, arch and toe box, as requested by users.

The cushioning provided by the Cushlon 3.0 foam is the highlight of the Nike Motiva midsole as it is designed to provide cushioning and help soften the impact when your feet hit the ground. The goal is to make movement as comfortable as possible, so the more cushioning underfoot, the smoother and more comfortable the running experience will be.

When designing the Nike Motiva, what we were really looking to do era eliminate distractions, to address the discomfort that can accompany how you feel during and after an activity. Dr. Emily Farina, principal investigator at the Nike Sport Research Lab.

The sole of the Nike Motiva features an exaggerated sole curvature that helps provide a smooth transition as you move forward. The rocker helps ground the foot after heel strike immediately before helping the foot roll forward to propel itself to take the next step.

The irregularity of the outsole, dubbed ComfortGroove helps make the underfoot experience even smoother, compressing where and when you need it. Any little energy return a shoe can give back to the wearer means they can feel less fatigued.

Runner profile of the Nike Motiva

Nike Motiva runner profile

The Nike Motiva is a shoe designed for women of all weight classes as it has great cushioning, although it will depend on your use (running, jogging, walking) to get the most out of it.

As it is a shoe that adapts to a wide range of profiles, we do not recommend it for long distance running on asphalt. For exclusive running use and distances of more than 10 kilometers, Nike offers other possibilities that will respond much better than the Nike Motiva.

The Nike Motiva will be available from May 2023 and, with its totally new rocker geometry and its great cushioning, it could be a very popular shoes for women who need a versatile shoe for their different libre activities.
