The Adidas Terrex Swift shoes are designed for trekking, offering a high level of cushioning, comfort and durability. While all the technologies that have been added to these shoes make them somewhat heavier than traditional running shoes, we may also notice that they are lighter than the boots that are commonly used for these types of activities, without sacrificing all the protection and performance that is needed.

In this edition, Adidas Running has built a shoe that is somewhere in between a fairly rugged trailrunning shoe and a lightweight climbing boot. Theseultra-reinforced shoesare very comfortable and stable, even for over-pronated feet. Despite its weight, the Adidas Terrex Swift maintains its agility to move freely.

Upper features

The upper incorporates an abrasion-resistant mesh that allows good airflow into the shoe, but also prevents external elements from getting inside the shoe. Underneath this mesh layer is Gore-Tex technology, a lightweight material that allows the shoe to be waterproof without sacrificing ventilation.

Some TPU overlays provide efficient and reliable support, especially for the midfoot section, which at the same time also provides greater stability to the shoe. In the heel area a rather robust support has been incorporated, which allows the foot to stay in place.

Closure is by means of thin, quick-fastening laces, which make the shoes easier to put on.

Midsole

A traditional EVA rubber is used in the midsole, which is spread in a single layer throughout the entire shoe. This rubber allows the Adidas Terrex Swift to offer a pretty decent level of cushioning and durability. Another aspect that we can find in the midsole of these shoes are some protective plates made of polyamide, which offer protection to the foot against sharp objects that we find on the road.

In the central area of the shoe is a high-density rubber, whose purpose is to provide better arch support, ideal for overpronators. Finally, in the heel area an additional AdiPrene reinforcement has been incorporated, which allows for greater absorption of the impact with the surface.

Outsole

The outsole of the Adidas Terrex Swift is covered with fairly aggressive lugs and rubber that offers a very good level of traction. These two components allow for excellent grip on a wide variety of surfaces. The special design used in the heel area contributes to better cushioning and impact attenuation.

Thanks to the traction offered by the outsole, the shoes become a reliable training model that can be relied upon to take to the mountains in the summer, or also on rainy days, and even in the snow.

With increased protection in key areas, such as the forefoot, heel and arch, these shoes will allow us to explore the most complicated terrain in complete safety and comfort. Both the sole and midsole offer good stability characteristics, giving the model a natural and defined movement of the foot, even on uneven terrain.

Although we have already mentioned their weight350 grams), the Adidas Terrex Swift provide agility and safety when moving on technical terrain. The upper materials will keep our feet protected and free of loose material, while its midsole will offer adequate cushioning for the soles of our feet, making these shoes perfect companions in the most varied adventures.
