Going out for a run can entail annoying risks, one of them is the irritation that occurs in the nipples due to friction with the shirt.

First of all, you need to know that cotton t-shirts produce greater friction and therefore greater nipple irritation. Many runners make the mistake of going out to train or compete with the typical cotton tank tops and over another shirt, either technical or cotton. This type of undershirts are usually tight to the body and with sweat or rain, the friction is accentuated and therefore the erosion of the nipple is irritated and produces an annoying itching.

This causes what are known as bleeding nipples or athlete's nipples. We are going to offer you some ideas to avoid this type of discomfort that prevents you from enjoying running:

  • Use technical and non-cotton t-shirts. Preferably first layer elastic t-shirts that regulate perspiration.
  • Smear the nipple with Vaseline or rosehip oil, which also gives very good results.
  • Band-aids or adhesive tape. Put two strips crossed in the shape of a cross over the nipple. The problem with band-aids is that they tend to come off with humidity, water or sweat. If this happens to you, try using adhesive tape, making sure to stick it on when the nipple is completely dry.

Pharmacy products

If none of these home remedies work for you, there are anti-scratch creams on the market. Here are the most popular among popular athletes:

Body Glideis a technically advanced skin cream that helps prevent and relieve chafing, dryness and chapped skin on feet, crotch and upper body. Easy to apply and very popular with triathletes.

Pedi-Relax Anti-Chafing Cream with melaleuca essential oil provides good protection before strenuous activities. It is applied on the areas of friction, with a light circular massage, before exertion or sport.

Bariéderm Cream. For skin subject to irritation, rubbing and chemical aggressions. For face (neck) and body

Born Basic Care Cream 8. One of the anti-chafing creams preferred by cyclists and triathletes.

And you have problems with chafing on your neck, nipples or feet, what do you do to avoid it?
