The South Korean firm has recently presented the new version of its Samsung Gear S3 smartwatch, a slightly larger smartwatch with some improvements over its predecessor. In addition, one of the main novelties of the Gear S3 is that it comes in two versions called Classic and Frontier.

The former has a more traditional design, has more protruding buttons and only includes stripes on its rotating bezel, while the latter accentuates its sporty line, with practically flat buttons and its rotating bezel includes numbers. And although they appear to be quite similar, their interiors also harbor a few differences.

GPS and SOS button

Samsun Gear S3

Among the most important new features is an integrated GPS system to monitor the routes you take when running or cycling. In addition, the Gear S3 includes Samsungs mobile payment system, allowing you to make payments via NFC. On the other hand, it incorporates the 'always on display' mode (always on), a microphone and speakers included as standard and even an SOS button for emergencies.

A watch for the male audience

The new Samsung Gear S3 is a mix of classic smartwatch, in line with the Gear S2 and the Gear Fit 2 activity bracelet. Its screen grows to 13 inches and its weight increases a little reaching 57 and 62 grams respectively, depending on the model.

Its size is also somewhat larger and this is something that can be a handicap for those whose wrists are somewhat narrow. In addition, it is a watch whose design is more intended for the male audience than the female.

Convenient access to apps

To answer calls now just slide your finger over the screen, a functionality of great utlidad when you're running or you're on the move. In addition, its rotating bezel allows much more convenient access to applications, such as Spotify that comes standard.

The Samsung Gear S3 maintains the Tizen operating system and has a high-definition screen with a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels. Its battery is extended to 380 mAh which allows you to enjoy an autonomy of between 3 and 4 days. It includes a wireless charger and fast charging system.
