Salomon Odyssey Pro

The Salomon Odyssey Pro shoes are designed to become the best companions for our outdoor adventures. Thanks to the set of technologies carefully designed by Salomon, we get a shoe with good cushioning, materials resistant to the different demands to which we submit the shoe and with soles that promise traction and grip in the most varied terrain conditions.

Features of the shoe

With a low-profile design, these shoes allow greater freedom of movement without sacrificing the protection that the feet need, especially in the ankle area. A textile material in the form of abrasion-resistant mesh lines the upper of these shoes and allows them to conform comfortably to the natural shape of our feet.

The natural characteristics of this material also allow for good airflow into the interior, keeping feet cool no matter how long we wear the shoes. The mesh stretches in a single layer across the entire upper of the shoe; to add durability underneath this layer of mesh is a layer of nylon which also allows air to pass through, but also makes the upper more durable.

While this material is not completely waterproof, its design has a medium water resistance, meaning that we can use the shoes in wet conditions, even stepping in puddles, without our feet getting wet; a feature that this material does have is quick drying, so we can ensure that our feet will stay dry in most conditions we face.

The tongue has a design that hugs the contour of the foot and makes the closure of the Salomon Odyssey Pro shoe more secure, preventing loose material that is in the way can enter the shoe and cause discomfort. The collar is quite padded and fits snugly around the ankle to keep it secure.

Inside the shoe we find a molded Ortholite footbed, which adapts to the natural curves of the foot and provides added cushioning. The open construction of this insole improves ventilation and helps to wick moisture away from the interior, preventing irritation and maintaining a pleasant environment while wearing the shoe.

Midsole

For the midsole, the EnergyCell+ compound is used, which is a material that offers a high level of energy return but also provides the soles of the feet with a comfortable surface during landing. This material also adds durability to the midsole and thanks to its density, it will keep your feet protected from sharp objects that could hurt them.

Sole

Contagrip rubber is used for the soles, which provides excellent grip on different types of surfaces and also provides durability and resistance to prolonged use. The soles of the shoes have square lugs that, while not very aggressive in appearance, allow them to adapt to a wide range of terrain, from loose soil, wet ground, uneven surfaces and even asphalt.

Fit

Regarding fit, the shoes are slightly narrower in the heel and midfoot area to allow for better support of these areas, while the forefoot section has more room to give mobility and flexibility to the toe area.
