Photos Puma Speed 300 Ignite

1 / 8

The Puma Speed300 Ignite is a lightweight, high-speed shoe with an under-heel piece of Pumas patented Ignite foam. This foam injection is known as a "propulsion zone," as it works by stretching the rubber of the outsole over the specified grooves to give it a little extra pop at toe-off. It would be possible to be imagining things, but it could be argued that wearing the Puma Speed300 Ignite makes our legs feel a little less sluggish.

The end result is a highly efficient shoe that is built for speed and offers a bit of structural firmness. Some runners will love this, others not so much. The Puma Speed300 Ignite is durable, offers a bit of traction, is comfortable, has a sleek design and best of all, the foam midsole makes it feel like you're running on air. With options for both men and women, they're definitely a solid sneaker.

Puma Speed 300 Ignite - flexibility

Outsole with excellent flexibility

The outsole is mainly covered with Evertrack+, a high-strength carbon rubber, and exclusive to Puma. Mixed in with the rubber composition of the outsole (approximately in the center of the forefoot) is a section of inflated rubber for improved traction.

Puma uses a very deep and substantial cut that extends from the heel to the forefoot. This transition line connects to the deep flex grooves for excellent flexibility. The heel is decoupled to isolate shock.

Puma Speed 300 Ignite - power

More power in the toe-off phase

The PU polyurethane foam in the midsole forms the supportive backbone and responsiveness that the Speed 300 Ignite offers, in a way, are the defining characteristic of these shoes. This piece is primarily responsible for the driving dynamics of this running model. Surrounding the sole is a "propulsion zone"-that's a fancy way of saying that some extra springiness has been added.

This feature helps the sole, adding a bit of power to the powerful takeoffs that Puma s reference information on these shoes boasts. After using them it is possible to experience that this feature is more than just an advertising marketing ploy.

Puma Speed 300 Ignite - breathability

Superior breathability

The upper of the Speed 300 Ignite is simplicity at its best. Almost completely covered in mesh for superior breathability. Puma continues to rely on its patented Formstrip logo to act as the primary overlay support for all of its shoes, including the Puma Speed300 Ignite.

The overlays feature reflective materials for workouts in low visibility areas or times. Like most minimalist shoes, the upper is lightly cushioned and molds nicely to the runner's foot.

The upper of this shoe offers functionality, style, and breathability all in one package. If foot odor or excessive sweating are major issues for you, all of these aspects are well covered with these shoes, thanks to the EcoOrtholite molded footbed, which also adds comfort.
