1 / 3

We present the New Balance 890v6 a very versatile shoe that combines lightness and cushioning. Aimed at medium weight runners looking for a shoe for all types of runs and paces and who need proper cushioning.

The path of the New Balance 890 saga has not been easy, and even more so with the entry and positioning of the successful Fresh Foam Zante and Vazee Pace families, which were intended to occupy the mixedRunning shoes space. However, New Balance has decided to go for the New Balance 890v6 as one of its flagships in versatile models for use both in training and when competing in races.

With these premises, the new update of the New Balance 890 v6 has as a priority to offer a more dynamic and agile transition, seasoned with the necessary cushioning for regular use in training.

New Balance 890 v6, its strengths

  • RevLite midsole

One of New Balance 's most recognized foams allows these 890 v6 to gain a lot of weight in areas such as agility, reactivity and speed. Thus, the designers of the Boston brand have chosen to make a lighter and more flexible midsole, which includes new grooves, and even a more modern aesthetic for the model to provide a more reactive and better performance in each step.

  • More propulsive feel

This is obtained from the new toe cap design that favors a quicker and more responsive propulsion in the stride cycle. That's why the toe area includes a kind of spring, which makes the foot fit differently, providing a feeling of greater speed.

  • Engineered Mesh upper

This new Engineered Mesh upper spans its entire length, and this helps the model provide both stretch and support, as well as making it more breathable. In addition, the detailed, bootie-like design of the New Balance 890 v6 features a secure fit, as well as a sleeker, more modern aesthetic.

  • TPU construction

This resource from New Balance 's designers makes the 890 v6 more supportive in the heel area. This model also incorporates TPU strips in the forefoot, thus providing extra energy in the propulsion phase.

  • Outsole

On the outsole of the New Balance 890 v6, the design with hollow areas is striking, designed not only to increase the response in the areas of greatest impact, but also to reduce the weight of the shoe.

New features of the New Balance 890v6

With all this, and in the new features section, the New Balance 890 v6 undergoes an important variation in its last, which goes from the PL-8, used in the previous version of the NB 890 v5, to the VL-6 last, which has also worked in an iconic model such as the New Balance Vazee Pace v2

Another difference of the 890 v6 with its predecessor is in the configuration of the outsole, where New Balance designers have chosen to include rubber reinforcements in strategic points and more exposed to wear, but without exceeding to try to maintain a balanced weight, and rather reduced. To which we must also add the engineered mesh without seams and in the shape of a bootie to offer improved support and elasticity.

The drop the New Balance 890 v6 also varies from the 8 millimeters of the previous version to 6 millimeters (21mm in the forefoot and 27mm in the heel). As for the weights, they are slightly higher at 255 grams for the men's model and 222 grams for the women's version.
