In the 860 v5 model, New Balance already showed the leap in quality in this series of pronator shoes, which is one of the benchmark options for all runners looking for premium cushioning and a moderate level of stability. Thus, the new 860 v6 had the bar set very high.

However, the latest installment of this family of the North American brand continues to offer that great response, reinforced with a reduction in weight, greater comfort and more performance. Although there are not many changes in the 860 v6, they are noticeable.

Like its predecessor, this sixth version also includes New Balance's exclusive technologies, focused on achieving a more natural and cushioned stride:

  • Abzorb: Specific material that increases shock absorption in the forefoot and heel area.
  • Acteva: This is a lighter midsole that provides more cushioning and even improves resistance to compression.
  • T-Beam: The thin piece of TPU, which provides more support in the area of the arch of the foot to enhance stability in each step.
  • Asym Counter: Asymmetric counter in the heel area.

Sleeker, more comfortable and responsive fit

With the technological innovations already presented and known, the evolution of the 860 v6 is located in its upper. In this new model, New Balance has worked on a design that presents a more elegant, comfortable and responsive fit than the 860 v5.

The added overlays in the synthetic mesh upper give the model a superior experience for the foot to fit better. Also, as in the previous version, all details appear seamless. Its Ortholite sockliner provides additional cushioning and arch support.

The blown rubber outsole features deep flex grooves and a more hexagonal forefoot print, which improves durability.

Weight is slightly reduced, remaining at 292 grams. While its drop also remains at 12 millimeters.

In short, the New Balance 860 v6 remains the shoe of reference for regular training and to correct moderate pronation.
