Year 2018

In the new update of the Brooks Ravenna 9 there are very significant changes, because the designers of Brooks Running have opted for an almost complete redesign, improving the performance of this running shoe, and also providing more stability to the runner who needs stability, giving rise to enjoy a more versatile race, and at the same time faster.

Thus, it can be said that this ninth version is a model for running on asphalt, and that it can be placed without problems in the segment of mixed running shoes. The famous American brand has the firm intention of competing with the iconic Adizero Tempo from adidas running, the Gel DS Trainer from ASICS Running ; or the FuelCore Sonic from New Balance, among others. Thus, these Ravenna 9 are very close to the successful Launch saga of the Philadelphia-based brand.

Features of the Brooks Ravenna 9, adaptive cushioning

Despite all the new changes that bring with them the ninth version of the Ravenna does not vary in mounting the characteristic BioMoGo midsole, whose main endorsement is that it is able to offer adaptive cushioning. With the addition of the Diagonal Rollbar (DRB) system, through which the shoe achieves a higher degree of stability thanks to the successful combination of the dual density of the BioMoGo DNA foam and the TPU piece in the midfoot area. Thus, on the one hand, pronation is reduced, and on the other hand, the shoe increases its firmness and rigidity in the torsion zone.

One of the big changes in the Brooks Ravenna 9 is in its upper, where the designers of the American company have chosen to incorporate a seamless mesh that significantly improves its fit, and also implements large holes to increase the breathability of the model. In this way, the Ravenna 9 offers a softer and more comfortable wrap compared to its predecessor, theBrooks Ravenna 8.

As a detail, and already a sign of identity, the cushioning of the Ravenna 9 also continues to maintain that generous and soft padding to enhance the feeling of greater comfort in each stride.

Brooks RunningRavenna 9, improved responsiveness

For its part, in the outsole the line to follow is practically the same as in the previous version, although the improvements that are introduced come in the front flex grooves, which have slightly changed their drawing. Their distribution is straighter in order to achieve greater flexibility, and therefore improve the responsiveness of the shoe.

In addition, the Brooks Ravenna 9 features the HPR+ compound, a material that provides more hardness, and which is implemented in the strategic points of the shoe, more specifically in the areas most exposed to abrasion, and thus try to increase the life of this mixed shoe for pronator and neutral runners.

In terms of technical specifications, the Brooks Ravenna 9 maintains the standard 10 mmdrop, combined with weights of 270 grams for the men's version and 230 grams for the women's model. This weight is lower than that of the Brooks Ravenna 8. All in all, the Ravenna 9 is presented as a lightweight option with a remarkable and efficient combination of cushioning and stability for training and racing.
