The Brooks Adrenaline ASR 13 offers everything a runner needs from the very moment they leave the house until the very last minute of the race. It is a very lightweight shoe that will perform perfectly on long distance runs, but is also able to offer an excellent level of cushioning and enough stability for daily workouts. In terms of cushioning, these shoes are quite efficient, which makes them a real option to consider for long-distance runners with a pronated stride.

Upper features

In the upper we find a construction almost entirely made with Element Mesh which is water resistant, but also offers good breathability and comfort. Brooks has eliminated the heavy overlays that were mainly in the toe area and replaced them with thinner overlays. The result is a more forgiving feel and more room in the toe area, which decreases the likelihood of chafing.

The overlays retained in the upper allow for better support, primarily to the midfoot section. On the inside Brooks uses BioMoGo Sockliner technology which adds comfort for the feet and also contributes to cushioning. The interior keeps the feet dry thanks to the use of a water-repellent rubber.

Midsole

The midsole cushioning also features BioMoGo DNA technology which covers the entire length of the midsole to give better responsiveness, increased durability and make transitions from heel to forefoot as smooth as possible.

The stability of the Brooks Adrenaline ASR 13 is made possible by a three-density rubber called Progressive Diagonal Rollbar which extends from the heel to the midfoot. The density of the rubber goes from soft to firm the closer it gets to the midfoot, thus providing greater stability in the stride. To add even more stability, a piece of TPU is added in the midfoot area called DRB Accel.

This material also helps provide greater rigidity during torsion for added structure and support. Finally, segmented pads make up the midsole for greater shock attenuation and improved flexibility.

Outsole

The lugs located in the forefoot of the outsole are less rough than in the previous version. Replacing this rough outsole is a more regular configuration that allows the shoes to adapt to a wider variety of terrains, from trail to asphalt.

The sides of the foot and heel continue to use significant lugs for excellent traction. Brooks uses HPR Plus carbon rubber in the heel and other areas prone to wear from surface contact, resulting in more durable outsoles. In the forefoot area of the Brooks Adrenaline ASR 13 a blown rubber has been used, which being softer, allows for greater flexibility.

Fit

The fit of the shoes remains the same as in the previous edition, there is good room in the forefoot area, while the midfoot and heel area are somewhat tighter. This type of structure adapts well to different foot widths.

Brooks has done considerable optimization work for this version of the shoe and the result is undoubtedly positive, delivering a lighter but responsive shoe in different terrain conditions.
