The Gel Kayano has become a world reference in the field of running, with 22 years of history under its belt. A top-of-the-range shoe in terms of stability , it has been designed for runners who want to rack up the miles on their feet. The support, achieved through an amalgam of technical details, provides stability in each stride from the first to the last kilometers of each training session, when fatigue and physical wear appear.

On the other hand, the Asics Gel Kayano 22 is a guarantee in terms of cushioning. Thanks to its GEL plates incorporated in the front and rear of the shoe, they help the runner to protect his joints after the impact of each stride against the asphalt.

It is a training shoe with high stability control, aimed at runners with a strong build and a pronated stride. This new version of the Asics Gel Kayano 22 has reduced its weight by 15 grams compared to the predecessor model, which translates into a shoe weighing 310 grams and 10 mm drop for the men's version and 250 grams and 13 mm drop for the women's version.

Upper

The upper of the shoe incorporates a stretch mesh for support, along with FluidFit 2.0 technology for a lighter and more mobile feel. In addition, the upper has been constructed without seams to avoid annoying chafing when running. Midsole

As for the major improvements incorporated in the midsole of the Asics Gel Kayano 22, on the one hand we find the FluidRaid 2.0 technology, being an improved dual-density compound that translates into greater lightness and greater cushioning; and on the other hand the Superspeva compound, providing 15% more reactivity.

As mentioned above, the drop of the Asics Gel Kayano 22 varies depending on whether the shoe is for men or women. In the first case, the height difference between the heel part and the forefoot area of the shoe is 10 mm, while in the second case it rises up to 13 mm.

Sole

Regarding the main improvements introduced in the sole of the Gel Kayano 22, on the one hand there is the Supersolyte compound, making the shoe 20% lighter in this area. And on the other hand, the new heel counter in the heel optimizes stability and weight control. The heel, in turn, incorporates AHAR+ compound to increase the shoe's durability in that area most prone to wear.
