TomTom Runner 2 Cardio

The TomTom Runner 2 Cardio is the new GPS heart rate monitor that comes to improve the first version(Tom Tom Tom Runner) that despite its success in sales, it received some criticism with the heart rate measurement system without a chest strap, integrated into the watch itself. The main novelty of this TomTom Runner 2 is that it incorporates a music player. So forget about carrying your cell phone or mp4 when you go running.

The new watch has a more refined design than the first version comes with a capacity of 3 gigabytes. Enough to carry miles songs or podcasts on your running outings. In addition, thanks to its Bluetooth system you can forget about cables and have headphones with this wireless technology.

As I said, the heart rate is taken from the wrist. So we forget about the chest strap as they did with the Tom Tom Cardio model. It remains to be seen how the system that had some criticism from users of the Cardio model works.

Following the trend of quantifying bracelets, this TomTom Runner 2 is able to measure steps, active minutes, distance, calories burned and hours of sleep. Runners can set and record daily and weekly goals and track their progress on the watch or through the TomTom MySports app.

TomTom MySports app

One of the things we liked the most is that all the stats are recorded in the TomTom MySports app but is that you can also upload the data wirelessly to RunKeeper, Nike or Strava among others.

Notifications

Following the trend of high-end models, the watch allows you to receive notifications from your cell phone. Both calls and mails or even Whatsapp messages.
