When you want to buy shoes for sports the first choice should always be a specific model for that sport. It seems obvious but it is not the first time I see people running with padel shoes or vice versa playing padel with Running shoes. The second question on our minds is usually cushioning. And I want to go deeper today to answer the following question: How much cushioning is necessary for running?

Cushioning is the property by which an anatomical structure receives, absorbs and mitigates a force, either because it has been dispersed or because the energy has been transformed in such a way that the initial force has been reduced. When you run, the vertical force can multiply to more than twice your body weight. For a runner weighing 70 kilograms, each stride means supporting an impact on the foot of close to 150 kilograms. If each of your training sessions is approximately 10 kilometers, do the math.

The first defense mechanism to protect yourself from these impacts is found in different parts of your anatomy: knee, ankle, foot and heel. The second would be a good running technique, while the third mechanism would be the cushioning of the Running shoes themselves, classifying them into different groups and, always taking into account the weight of the person.

Currently on the market there are various cushioning technologies in order to provide, in some cases, the maximum possible amount of it, which has led to a thickening of the sole of the shoe, especially in the heel area. So when you go to buy your next pair, keep your weight in mind. Too much weight in the shoe will cause you to expend more energy than is strictly necessary. Here are 6 models of Running shoes with maximum cushioning for you to enjoy when you go out for a run.

Adidas Supernova Glide Boost 7

It integrates Boost technology in the midsole, so characteristic of the brand, to promote greater energy return in the cushioning section, while Torsion technology offers greater stability control. Therefore, when the Japanese brand considered how to design the new version of its fetish shoe, it made the most difficult but ultimately the most successful decision: to almost completely renew it, instead of evolving it. The result is this new Asics Gel Nimbus 17, a shoe designed for men and women that is capable of offering lightness, comfort and cushioning for long-distance training. The successful training shoe has been slightly lighter in weight, standing at 306 grams for the men's model and 249 grams for the women's. The drop is unchanged and remains unchanged.
