Adidas has already shown us with the release of its BOOST material that it is trying to make a difference in the world of running shoes. What we show you today is a preview of what we will be able to see in February 2014.

Running with blades?

This is the adidas Springblade. The most striking thing is its sole composed of 16 blades. The goal is to propel forward instead of upward as current materials do.

The Designboom.com website unveiled the model a few months ago but with only a sketch of the shoes and with messages as the first shoes with springs.

In fact, if the design of this Springblade is confirmed, it is clear that the important thing is not to innovate but to copy well.

It has been 2 years since the ON sneakers appeared on the market.

A copy of the ON shoes?

The philosophy era the same: to push runners forward and help them improve their efficiency with each step. The experiment was endorsed by NASA scientists. We tested them and the conclusion was that while it was true that you could feel a certain thrust in your stride, after 3 months they lost their effectiveness and even broke their "springs".

But as we don't want to be doomsayers, we are looking forward to try this new "exprimento" from adidas. At least it is to be welcomed that the German brand promotes and covers its R&D department and shows us new products that can really "revolutionize the world of Running shoes".

Springs underfoot

The Springblade features 16 angled blades made of a high-tech polymer. The blades react instantly and the compression and release of energy creates an efficient boost by simulating the action of springs underfoot, according to their creators.

According to Mikal Peveto, director of running for Adidas America, they have been working on the design and manufacture of the adidas Springblade for six years to deliver "one of the highest energy performances in the industry".

What's for sure is that its futuristic look and blade technology are a totally different concept than what we're used to seeing. And that's a very good thing.
