Among the shoes that NEW BALANCE has launched to find a niche in the segment of light and versatile shoes we find the second version of the 890.

Description

This is a light, flexible and very comfortable shoe for neutral runners and, in theory, for runners weighing up to 70 kg and for all types of training and competitions on asphalt.

Our sensations

The first thing we found is that it has an optimal fit and an outstanding feeling of freshness and lightness.

The upper is one-piece, quite breathable and without rigid elements.

To improve this lightness they have used Revlite, a foam compound in the midsole that helps to reduce the weight of this model.

The other important component, the Abzorb, has the main mission of absorbing impacts and distributing cushioning from the heel to the midfoot.

Conclusions

In this way they get a shoe with a good performance and excellent response, in our opinion its best virtue, but it is somewhat fair in the levels of cushioning and stability. If we add to this the low profile that the manufacturer has sought (8 mmdrop ), we find that it does not meet the conditions for long workouts in which we can end up resenting the lack of protection.

It is, however, an excellent shoe for fast runs and series as well as competitions up to half marathon, always referring to very light runners who like to "feel" the ground under their feet.

The appointment

A very good option for athletes who usually alternate with other shoes depending on the type of training or competition.
