Lakai Staple

Originally released in the spring of 2001, the Staple is easily one of the Lakai brand's most memorable styles. The Lakai Staple sneaker was replaced by the Staple 2 in 2003, and the design was eventually dropped from Lakai s lineup prior to the release of the Fully Flared in 2007.

However the sneaker was released again in 2010 as part of Lakai 's tenth anniversary and again became a resounding success.

More than fifteen years after the release of the first edition, Lakai has refined this iconic model to meet today's performance standards while maintaining the aesthetic heritage of this design. The color combinations of these sneakers were inspired by three of Lakai's top skaters, Rick Howard, Marc Johnson and Mike Carroll.

Features

Staple shoes offer the on-board feel of a typical vulcanized shoe, while providing just enough protection to keep feet from getting hurt on the ground. The internal insole provides good cushioning; the high sidewall height offers ample ankle support, which is a big plus for a slim, low-waisted shoe.

Made with a textile upper, these low-profile skate shoes have a flexible vulcanized construction that conforms well to the foot and allows for ease of movement; the abrasion-resistant, one-piece toe cap provides added durability in this wear-prone area.

For cushioning, the shoes have an impact-resistant EVA rubber midsole, which provides good underfoot protection and is complemented by an internal insole made of the same material. The rubber outsoles with herringbone tread design increase board feel and grip and also contribute to cushioning.
