The carbon plate is democratized and a very clear example of this is the Skechers GoRun Persistence. I have no doubt that Skechers are very clear that their target runners are not the most advanced runners. And although they have advanced models for the most demanding runners, their focus has always been on the side of the most popular runner. Looking for good sensations, convenience and comfort as a hallmark of the American brand.
In keeping with this well-established style, they are launching a running shoe that could be considered mid-range in terms of the use of materials, including a carbon plate (in fact, it is a carbon-infused pebax material). The goal is to democratize a technology that helps you run faster and more stably so that it is within the reach of a large majority of people's pockets.
What type of runner do we recommend the Skechers GoRun Persistence for?
The Skechers GoRun Persistence are training running shoes, both for running and for quality sessions where we want to squeeze and squeeze us on the asphalt. It is a shoe for paces between 4 and 5 m/km although you will be able to run even faster with them, but if you already move at those paces, it is likely that you are looking for another type of shoe.
It is ideal for runners who are looking to get closer to the sensations of running with a carbon plate, without giving up the comfort and the characteristic comfort of the brand. Perfect for those runs of 10 or 12 kilometers, 3 or 4 days a week. For those long series sessions for example or those changes of pace. The tongue is padded and stitched only on the lower part of the upper, but if you insert the laces through the loop that incorporates, the tongue will not move during the race. The laces are flat and fit properly.
It has a 6 mm drop, which together with the rocker geometry (although in this model it is less pronounced), encourages landing, not so much with the heel as with the midfoot. Something very characteristic of the brand.
It is a shoe that we would recommend to runners with a high arch or even a cape foot. And it is thanks to ArchFit that makes the entire plantar arch is supported both in the insole and in the geometry of the model itself in that area of the foot. It is something that you will notice from the first moment you put on the shoe.
What we liked most about the Skechers GoRun Persistence
It is a shoe without great technologies, without too many gimmicks, a model that does not seek performance but to reach a wide audience such as runners who enjoy running outside of races and who are curious to try the sensations caused by running with a carbon plate. That's why we love the price. A running shoe of average price around 100€ if you compare in RUNNEA with carbon plate.
We like the comfort that Skechers always manages to give to its models.

Possible improvements of the Skechers GoRun Persistence
It is a shoe that incorporates the latest generation Pebax H-shaped plate and then a cushioning foam that is already a bit outdated. It is functional, comfortable and comfortable but Skechers already has advanced foams that can be incorporated even if not in the entire midsole of a model like this.
The upper is also simple and reminds us a lot of previous models of the revered GoRun Ride. It is likely that in future editions of this model, if any, we will see a more sophisticated upper.
