Saucony Peregrine 5

The American firm Saucony expands its catalog in the trail running segment with the new PowerGrid Peregrine 5, a shoe with a good protection of 272 grams of weight and 4 mm of drop intended for runners with neutral tread.

Upper

Saucony has placed special emphasis on the section related to safety in the mountains, including a rubber toe cap with greater reinforcement, while in the heel area the American firm has chosen to include a piece to provide this shoe with greater stability on uneven terrain.

This upper area of the shoe is seamless and is made of lightweight and resistant FlexFilm material. The heel and tongue have good cushioning and RunDry technology to prevent sweat retention in these areas of the shoe. It should be noted that the tongue is stitched on both sides in order to prevent the entry of annoying stones, while near the toe includes a hook for gaiters.

Midsole

The midsole has a minimalist cutdrop of only 4 mm. To protect the shoe from possible impacts caused by stones, this PowerGride Peregrine 5 adds a plate called External Bedrock Outsole that is located between the midsole and the outsole.

The PowerGrid technology incorporated throughout the midsole is responsible for providing cushioning and comfort to the shoe. In addition to achieving a smoother ride, it distributes pressure evenly and, at the same time, manages to reduce the weight of the shoe.

Outsole

This part of the shoe has a series of multidirectional lugs to provide the trail runner with excellent traction during ascents and descents over rough terrain. The inside of the tread contains XT-900 rubber to ensure greater durability despite the accumulation of kilometers.
