Last January saw the official presentation of the new New Balance Fresh Foam EVOZ, a model that joins the Boston-based company's competitive catalogue of running shoes and aspires to become a benchmark for everyday runners. With cushioning intended for a wide range of runners, this model makes use of some of New Balance's most innovative technologies. Let's take a closer look at the main features of this new release, starting with the midsole.

Implementing New Balance's star cushioning technology, the Fresh Foam material, is synonymous with cushioning, comfort and softness in the tread. This model also has a studied geometry that ensures a more equitable distribution of impact and pressure in running, for a less harmful footprint and a more accentuated comfort.

New Balance's Fresh Foam material, present in this new model, is made from thermoplastic polymers, and is able to offer an excellent balance between cushioning, lightness and flexibility for excellent response. As previously mentioned, this New Balance Fresh Foam EVOZ has important aesthetic similarities with the now defunct Boracay line. The upper of this training shoe mixes technical fabric with thermoplastic elements for an excellent combination of breathability and durability. In addition, it includes visible reinforcement in the heel area that emphasizes the feeling of fit.

The ankle area features extra padding for added Achilles tendon protection. A more spongy collar mitigates impact on contact with the training surface. A more modern aesthetic, in line with the renovation of New Balance's most emblematic classics with more refined contours and simplified design lines.

The outsole is dominated by the Blown Rubber compound, present in different densities to favor traction and durability in the most strategic areas. The heel and toe areas incorporate a greater amount of this material for greater exposure to wear. The composition of the midsole ensures greater fluidity during the stride cycle.

This area of the shoe incorporates flex cuts that allow the shoe to be lighter and promote a more efficient running experience.
