Mizuno Wave Inspire 12

Following in the footsteps of reference models such as the Minuzo Wave Ultima 7 and the Mizuno Wave Paradox 2, the twelfth version of the Wave Inspire 12 is the solution that the Japanese firm proposes for the wide range of mild and/or moderate pronator runners. This latest Wave Inspire is presented as a training shoe with optimal cushioning and good stability for pronation control. However, it is also suitable for long-distance competitions on asphalt, such as the challenge of overcoming a marathon.

Improved cushioning and fit

Compared to its predecessor, the Wave Inspire 11, there are no radical changes, although the improvements in the Wave Inspire 12 are more than noticeable in terms of fit and cushioning.

The upper of the latest version of the Mizuno Inspire 12 has a new design and positioning of the Dynamotion Fit system, those fastening straps that improve the fit of the model, gathering more of both the heel and midfoot area. The shoe gains in consistency and comfort. It also incorporates the OrthoLite insole, which can be removed, as an element that reinforces cushioning and helps eliminate bacteria.

Cushioning is another area in which the Wave Inspire 12 presents significant innovations. On the one hand, there is the Soft First Touch construction, which consists of the insertion of the exclusive material of the Japanese brand U4icX in the heel, increasing cushioning and energy return, while correcting pronation from the first contact with the ground.

On the other hand, the U4icX compound also appears in the renewed midsole to provide the model with a softer response, but also to achieve greater shock absorption in the rear part. The Double Fan Wave system is also used to provide a more stable ride and reduce pronation, without increasing the stiffness of the model.

Smoother stride

In the outsole, and located in the heel, Mizuno's most durable carbon rubber compound, X10, is still present to improve traction, but the Japanese brand has also chosen to include a new expanded rubber, thicker, which intensifies the feeling of greater cushioning, traction, comfort and a more fluid footprint. In addition to ensuring greater resistance to abrasion.

Here we must not forget the importance of the Flex controllers, located in strategic flex zones, which provide greater flexibility and help reduce weight.

Another change to highlight in the Wave Inspire 12 is its drop. It has gone from 12 to 10 millimeters, making the stride more natural. In terms of weight, the men's version weighs 306 grams in European size 425, while the women's version weighs 252 grams in European size 39.
