The second version of the Wave Daichi is a new update of Mizuno 's most versatile mountain running shoe. In terms of performance, the Wave Daichi 2 continues to maintain the main features of the original version, but also incorporates a number of significant improvements to make it a more effective shoe for trail runners, who move through multiple terrains, from forest areas, through loose stone and gravel paths, to muddy stretches, and even on uneven surfaces. The Mizuno Wave Daichi 2 is able to adapt perfectly.

What's new in the Mizuno Wave Daichi 2?

Thus, the new features of the Wave Daichi 2 focus almost exclusively on their upper. Mizuno 's designers have sought to present an upper with a more resistant mesh than its previous version, ensuring durability in the most worn areas of the shoe.

The Wave Daichi 2 also reinforces the comfort aspect. For example, thanks to the new lining in the collar area of the model, which provides more softness.

In the midfoot area, this trail running shoe incorporates a series of reinforcements, which also reach the toe area. In addition, a series of reflective elements have also been introduced to improve visibility in adverse light conditions.

On the other hand, the Mizuno Wave Daichi 2 's double eyelets ensure that the tongue part of the model is where it needs to be at all times during the race.

All in all, the Mizuno Wave Daichi 2 features a lighter, more flexible and cleaner upper.

Technologies used in the Mizuno Wave Daichi 2

The first thing to note about the Mizuno Wave Daichi 2 is that it still retains that reliable outsole that provides the Michelin compound, offering great grip and adaptability to all types of terrain and conditions that one can find in the mountains. This compound, inspired by the prestigious all-terrain tires of the French manufacturer, is also used in other models of the Japanese brand such as the Wave Hayate 3 or the Wave Mujin 3 Without a doubt this gives clues of its great efficiency and response in the race.

With the XtaRide technologies -especially the Wave Concave and the XtaGroove flex channel-, the Mizuno Wave Daichi 2 continues to ensure maximum safety and traction on any type of surface.

The cushioning system of the Wave Daichi 2 continues in the hands of the AP+ material in the midsole, and the insertion of the exclusive U4icX material in the lower part of the heel. The result is more cushioning and softer cushioning.

It should also be noted that the Mizuno Wave Daichi 2 includes the Toe Guard system, which provides a more enveloping midsole, while at the same time incorporating greater reinforcement in the toe cap. Both aspects contribute to increasing the shoe's lifespan and, of course, its protection.

With its 12-millimeterdrop, and its weight of 320 grams for the men's version and 270 grams for the women's model, the Mizuno Wave Daichi 2 is designed to cover medium distances, being a more dynamic and lighter model compared to the Wave Mujin range, for example.
