Year 2019

For the 2019 season comes the Merrell Trail Glove 5, the fifth version of one of the most popular shoes of the brand in the trail running section, and perhaps the most outstanding in the section of lightness and flexibility, where it meets extreme conditions, ranking among the lightest in the trail running shoes market. It is a model designed to naturally improve the movement of the foot, stabilizing the body for all the fast movements required for speed training. This fifth model arrives with a rejuvenated look and with the high-tech features that Merrell has developed in recent years. We tell you all the details below.

Upper features

A lightweight upper that doesn't compromise on quality has been chosen for these trail shoes, which is why they have opted for a durable synthetic mesh with great breathability. The upper shows several synthetic leather reinforcements and thermo sealed in the most sensitive areas to wear. Inside, an insole has been used that is directly incorporated into the upper, so it is not removable. This insole features the M-Select Fresh system, made up of antimicrobial compounds capable of expelling bad odors and eliminating odor-causing bacteria.

Midsole and outsole

This Merrell shoe focuses its most characteristic point in the lower part, where a 4 mm midsole is located, composed of a compression-molded CMEVA foam that ensures significant durability in the most difficult mountain terrain. The outsole is made of a resistant Vibram Outsole CT5+ rubber, one of the most renowned among mountain shoes, but this time with a thin multi-layered sole to reduce the shoe's weight.

Among the technical specifications of these Merrel Trail Glove 5 we highlight the absence of drop, which results in a constant contact of the shoe with the surface, so it is not recommended for use on very rocky roads, despite its TrailProtect TM platform that protects the foot from debris that you can find on the surface. The weight of this shoe is around 200 grams in the men's version, while in the women's version its weight is reduced to 175 grams. It is a shoe of extreme lightness with which you will be able to achieve very happy rhythms in the mountains.
