The Merrel Bare Acces Flex is a minimalist shoe It stands out as one of the most versatile models of the house with which it seeks to expand its use to asphalt terrain, trail and even gym. so they are perfect for urban runners who sporadically train in the mountains. Also, its zero drop requires a knowledge of running technique. This model of running shoe is very light and rewards, especially the comfort of the user.

Merrel Bare Acces Flex, versatility and cushioning

In the midsole area we find the Merrel Bare Acces flex technology which will allow us to perceive everything we step at the same time that the shoe filters the pain. In this same area Merrel has added an extremely thin insole that reduces the transmission thanks to the MsellectFRESH. Also the midsole has been made with the MBound system, ie by compression so it will give us a point of stability. And this system is characterized by maintaining direct contact with the ground and great reactivity.

As for the upper, as mentioned above, it is what has undergone the most changes compared to the previous version. Merrel Bare Acces Flex has opted for a slightly thicker fabric completed by an internal lining that favors comfort. Despite having increased the thickness, it remains a thin upper which contributes to the flexibility of the shoe. As previously mentioned, it is a very minimalist and dense upper that does not let air through easily, does not absorb moisture and dries quickly. The truth is that in terms of waterproofing it can get us out of trouble in light rain, the problem comes when it becomes more forceful and soaks the shoe.

The sole of this new model has a 2 mm thick heel. It maintains a minimalist profile with zero drop but has increased the thickness compared to the Bare Acces 4 but remains quite low, so the durability of the Merrel Bare Acces Flex is limited, especially on abrasive terrain. As for the pattern of the sole, it has also been modified, as well as its compound, in this new model we find the Merrel Mselect Grip technology. In addition, the company has incorporated lines where there is no sole and the midsole is visible. This increases the flexion of the shoe with the FLEXconnect concept, so we adapt perfectly to the terrain. It should be noted that these shoes are not designed for muddy areas, wet rocks and steep slopes. Protection has been increased by means of a plastic reinforcement in the toe and heel areas.

Finally, in terms of technical specifications, as we have said, being a minimalist shoe the drop is 0 and the really light weight is positioned in the 210 gr a striking figure for a sports shoe suitable for trail.
