Year 2017

Designed for runners with severe pronation, the Brooks Beast 16 is a stability shoe that incorporates the full range of the American brand's technologies for a balanced shoe. In this edition, a range of colorways have been added to make the shoes more appealing to men.

This version of the shoe has been optimized to fit men perfectly. Among some of its optimizations the mesh has been improved to keep the shoe libre moisture, in addition to this, the entire interior of the shoe has been measured so that it properly fits the regular dimensions of men's feet, which makes them look more robust than their counterpart, the Ariel shoes, designed for women.

Upper and last of the shoe

Element Mesh is a breathable material used for the construction of the upper; this material properly wraps the foot but at the same time allows air to easily pass through to the interior, providing a well-ventilated environment throughout the run and keeping the shoe libre of moisture.

The synthetic overlays used around the entire shoe have been heat-sealed to the upper unit and adapted to the lacing system, so that the shoe can be better adjusted during lacing. This also allows for the elimination of seams, making the entire assembly less heavy and robust, although seams remain in some areas of the shoe, they are only used to reinforce certain areas.

Cushioning and support technologies

For cushioning the Brooks Beast 16 shoes use a set of technologies that target different areas of the foot and significantly enhance the running experience. For starters, Super DNA technology is a material used for the midsole that provides a level of cushioning superior to even other Brooks editions. This material uniquely adapts to the characteristics of each runner's foot providing cushioning more suited to individual needs.

Extended Progressive Diagonal Roll Bar technology is a triple density foam that corrects over-pronation. This material efficiently assists the foot to keep it stable throughout the run, while walking and even while standing.

Another technology is DRB Accel which helps reduce fatigue in the foot muscles by mimicking the way they tighten while running, so the muscles can stay more relaxed, leading to a more comfortable run.

In order for all these technologies to work together and naturally adapt to the movements the foot makes while running, a system has been devised that the firm calls Caterpillar Crash Pad, which basically consists of sections like the body of a worm that make the surface of the midsole more compatible with the way the foot unfolds during running, providing cushioning to the different sections as needed vaya

Brooks Beast 16 outsole

The outsoles are made from a material called HPR Green which not only provides good traction even on wet surfaces and is highly resistant to abrasion and wear, but is also environmentally friendly.

The Brooks Beast 16 shoes are the answer to many runners who are looking for a shoe with stability and good support. The incorporation of different technologies allows for great cushioning and resistance, which makes them perfect as training shoes and for incorporating them in different activities, such as running on slightly rocky terrain and on trails.
