Era one of the most eagerly awaited launches, and it has not disappointed . The new GT 2000 11 is the undisputed benchmark running shoes from ASICS for overpronators. A training shoe that stands out for offering superior support and stability at all distances, from a 10K to the marathon, whose eleventh edition does nothing but improve on the great reception of previous versions.
We are talking about a training model, and even competition, prepared to offer superior comfort in the lower part of the foot. Improved cushioning provides a much more comfortable and energetic run. A lethal combination for any type of race or session.
Ideal runner of the ASICS GT 2000 11
The ASICS GT 2000 11 consolidates itself as a safe valor for runners who need greater support and control of running movements. It is a model specifically oriented to overpronators that allows to run distances from the 10k to the marathon . A whole range of possibilities that reinforce its versatility.
Medium and heavy runners will be the ones who will get the most potential out of this model, from 70-75kg in men and 60-65kg in women. A model that is characterized for being within the running models for calm rhythms, and that in spite of it, will be able to be squeezed in certain punctual situations to achieve a greater top of speed.
Technical specifications of the ASICS GT 2000 11
Some of the most outstanding technical details of the ASICS GT 2000 11 can be found in its stability system. The technology, which responds to the name of LITE TRUSS, already present in the previous model; the ASICS GT 2000 10, will provide superior stability, offering an ideal model for pronator runners. On the other hand, the midsole foam is renewed. The Japanese company has chosen to include FFBLAST material, making the new model softer, more dynamic and more responsive during the race.
The upper of this new running model for men and women stands out for being made of a Jacquard mesh with up to 50% recycled materials and 45% less CO2 emissions compared to other manufacturing processes.
For its part, the outsole will include the AHARPLUS compound, ASICS High Abrasion Rubber +, one of the most durable materials of the company. Meanwhile, the built-in Ortholite insole and Rearfoot GEL technology in its heel will make it an exemplary model.

ASICS GT 2000 11, safety and satisfaction at intermediate paces
I just tried the ASICS GT 2000 in my marathon training. I used them for my recovery training and long runs, they are great shoes! They give you comfort, stability and protection. Plus, in this version, they have an extra touch in terms of the connection between the foot and the shoe, thanks to the new upper.
What type of runner is the ASICS GT 2000 11 recommended for?
This is a perfect running shoe for any runner who needs a little support. That's an ambitious claim, but they are ideal for slower mid to long distance runners looking for support and cushioning. They are also perfect for recovery outings for more performance-oriented runners who know that slow paces are crucial in a training plan. .
So if you run between 4:15 and 6:00, this model will give you confidence and satisfaction in that pace range.
What did we like most about the ASICS GT 2000 11?
In this test, three elements of the ASICS GT 2000 11 caught my attention in a positive way: the upper, the heel area and the dual-density foam midsole.
The upper is very breathable and adapts perfectly to the shape of the foot, providing a perfect bonding sensation between the shoe and the runner. Well, upon closer examination, I discovered at least 2 layers of fabric in the upper. In this upper, there is a first fabric in contact with the foot that is very light and has plenty of holes for breathability. On top of this fabric, there is an upper designed as a "sock" with different densities of material. The lower density areas allow the foot to breathe, while the higher density areas provide structure and elasticity to the upper. The result is impressive: the upper is lightweight, highly breathable and conforms perfectly to the shape of the foot throughout the stride cycle.
In addition, the heat-sealed reinforcements on the front at toe height provide even more stability. All in all, I loved this couture upper, because, precisely because it has no seams.
The heel area is a marvel in terms of protection and comfort. With reinforcements on the outside and padding on the inside, the designers have given a lot of importance to the protection and satisfaction of the runner. In addition, the generous vertical reflective stripe on the Achilles tendon axis increases visibility in low light conditions - this heel area makes for a pleasant running experience!
Midsole with 3 elements: cushioning, responsiveness, safety.
- The classic GEL is visible on the outer side under the heel. I call it "classic gel" because this gel is also found in the legendary ASICS Gel Kayano 29. And it is also in opposition to the "new gel" from ASICS, called Pure GEL , which is found for example in the ASICS GEL Nimbus 25
The Flyte Foam Blast foam that runs from heel to toe. This is the foam that ASICS applies to almost all of its models, I love it because it allows for smoother stride receptions and a more reactive response. Having it all along the foot gives great comfort during the run without feeling that the cushioning is unresponsive.
The LITETRUSS technology foam found in the midsole from heel to midfoot. To my taste, this foam provides stability. It is stiffer than the FF Blast, and for heel entry runners like me, some stiffness is important to secure the stride.
The last point I liked is the wear sole, which is composed of resilient elements distributed in the critical points of support of the foot. This reduces the weight of the shoe and increases its comfort level while providing more flexibility in the stride.
Opportunities for improvement in the ASICS GT 2000 11
The lacing hole design is round and the laces are flat. Although this is a minor detail, it could have been improved. With rectangular or oval holes, the position of the laces could have been better adjusted, providing a better connection between the foot and the shoe, as well as making it easier to adjust and tie them.
The tongue is well padded, but with a breathable material. When testing them on rainy days, the tongue absorbed a large amount of water. The second time I ran in the rain, as I tightened the laces more tightly, water entry was reduced.
What are the main competitors to the ASICS GT 2000 11?
Final Conclusions about the ASICS GT 2000 11
In summary, I like to give a panaromic view to help RUNNEA readers make a choice. When I do a review, I do it comprehensively and analyze the ASICS range of shoes. So I'll share with you what I've learned. In the ASICS range, we find trail running shoes, performance shoes andcomfort shoes. The GT 2000 11 is in the range of comfort shoes, which is divide into two types: with support for pronators and neutral (for neutral and supinators). The GT 2000 is part of the supportive shoes.
In addition to the GT 2000, other ASICS shoes that offer these features are the Kayano and the GT 1000. The GT 1000 are shoes with less running focus and less cushioning, so they are more versatile and can be used for the gym. The Kayano is ASICS ' legendary shoe for pronators and heavyweight runners. The GT 2000 falls in between, offering a cheaper alternative to the Kayano, with less performance, but with ASICS cushioning and ASICS support. I will definitely continue to use the GT 2000 in my workouts, because as I told you in my review, I have found a perfect shoe connection.
