From all the feedback and inquiries we receive at RUNNEA, we can attest to the findings of the pioneering ASICS World Uplift Map study, which shows the impact of sport on the minds of people around the world. That's because a large percentage of our loyal runners go running to escape and improve their physical and mental well-being.

Overall, the World Uplift Map is part of the first live global study that shows how sports practice in different disciplines impacts the cognitive and emotional state of people around the world.

Thanks to innovation and state-of-the-art technology, ASICS has staged its innovative ASICS Mind Uplifter tool to capture individual Mind Uplifts, thus providing a more accurate picture of the impact sport has on people's minds on a collective level. Thus, the so-called World Uplift Map brings with it different filters to segment and customize the results by sport and different traits, among other aspects.

On the other hand, this map allows you to locate the city in which each runner lives, and see the elevation score of their own community, while recording their mental elevations as they perform their favorite physical activities.

What is the emotional release rate of running?

Some of the overall conclusions that can be drawn from the ASICS World Uplift Map are that participants report feeling 16% more energized, 11% more confident and 9 more relaxed at the end of their workout. These percentages make clear the weight that sport has on the mental well-being of each person.

Thus, the first results of the live study show that basketball is the sport with the highest degree of emotional elevation (27%). This is followed by fitness classes (16%), while running, one of today's most popular activities, achieves a 10% increase in emotional release.

All in all, this revolutionary Mind Uplifter tool puts the traceability of the positive impact of sport, in general, and running, in particular, in the hands of popular athletes. The key to this method is that it uses 10 emotional and cognitive metrics to reflect how sports disciplines influence our feelings and thoughts.

How to become one of the protagonists of the ASICS World Uplift Map?

The steps to be part of the extensive list of participants in the ASICS World Uplift Map are very simple to apply:

  • SCAN your face to read your emotional state.
  • ANSWER scientifically developed questions to measure your brain function.
  • COMPLETE at least 20 minutes of Mind Uplift physical exercise.
  • REPEAT steps two and three.
  • GET your Mind Uplift results and SHARE them on your social networks.
  • CHECK how your results contribute to the Uplift World Map.

This way you will also have the possibility to follow the results in real time as more athletes join the ASICS global study. In fact, the Japanese brand wants to use the remainder of 2021 to organize different sporting events to demonstrate the power of sport to elevate the mind and contribute to the overall well-being of each individual, and therefore, of each community.

One last note, and within the framework of the presentation of the results of the World Uplift Map, ASICS has also taken advantage of the occasion to stage its new Celebration of Sport collection with footwear and sports apparel products in different categories, and celebrate the power of sport to uplift the world.
