The Under Armour Micro G Mantis running shoes initially made a slow journey to gain the preference of runners, mainly because the brand already had other popular lines of shoes whose features had fascinated from the beginning, such as the Spine or the Charge RC 2. However, the Micro G Mantis have attracted attention for three important aspects: their modern design, light weight and affordable price.

Beyond these three superficial features, the shoes have very good attributes as training shoes, being one of the most versatile editions created by the brand, as they can easily be incorporated into other sports activities in addition to running, where a shoe that provides stability, cushioning and support is needed.

Micro G midsole

One of the qualities worth highlighting in these shoes is the construction of its midsole, which incorporates a polymer that has received the name of Micro G, which has the advantage that it adapts to the type of demand that the athlete makes on the shoe.

In this way, the shoes provide a good level of stability, soft cushioning at the moment of impact with the surface and at the same time improve the transition in the movement of the foot, allowing a more efficient return of energy. Although the shoes are ideal for neutral runners, they also provide decent arch support that improves stride quality.

Since this polymer adapts to the type of pressure the athlete puts on the shoe at different times of the run, there is no need to add other components that provide additional cushioning in the heel or toe; this means that the midsole has fewer joints providing a more homogeneous surface.

To give the midsole of the Under Armour Micro G Mantis more durability and a point of rigidity, a TPU plate has been placed between the midsole and the outsole.

Upper

This edition of Under Armour undoubtedly has a very striking upper. In the toe area we can find an open mesh, which although it has very small holes, does not sacrifice at any time the good ventilation of the shoe.

On the sides of the shoe we find two panels, similar to those of other editions of Under Armour, however, in the Micro G Mantis are sewn to the mesh to improve grip. These panels are attached to the laces so that the runner can custom fit the shoe.

The first panel extends from the heel area and is incorporated into the top two lace holes, while the second panel is located just to the side and joins with the bottom three lace holes, giving the Under Armour Micro G Mantis a better fitting environment during the run.

These shoes offer a good stable feel to the foot and the padded upper in the collar and tongue area will allow for more comfort to the athlete, greatly improving the feel the feet receive during the run.
