In the fall 2017 catalog, Saucony prepares the Saucony Onmi 16 shoes, the continuation of a line designed for runners with a tendency to overpronation, offering a supportive shoe that provides comfort and stability for the feet, both during the race, as well as to use the shoes in our daily activities.

For the 16th edition of these shoes, some changes are made that will make the shoe more comfortable without sacrificing foot support. The cushioning remains substantial and robust to ensure good arch support and prevent foot deflection during running, without sacrificing flexibility.

Upper features

Saucony

The main change we will see in the upper is the use of a mesh with more open holes to facilitate ventilation; due to its soft to the touch characteristics the mesh adapts better to the foot and also allows for greater flexibility of the shoe and a less robust appearance in general.

Sauc-Fit technology continues to be used, which is a system that improves the fit; connected directly to the lacing system, it adapts to tighten or loosen the shoe according to the runner's needs, this also allows the shoe to enclose the foot correctly while providing support and stability. The heel and midfoot will be the main beneficiaries of this system.

Underneath the mesh is the FlexiFilm material, which is placed in the front section of the upper and increases the shoe's durability, but also provides a better structure to the mesh, ensuring comfort, flexibility and a more secure coverage for the foot.

Midsole

The midsole now features a more sculpted design for added agility, continuing to use EVERUN rubber which runs throughout the midsole and is the primary cushioning in the Saucony Omni 16 This rubber provides a cushioned layer for the foot, attenuating impact during the landing phase and facilitating toe-off for a smoother transition between the heel and toe.

A reinforcement placed in the medial area of the shoe is included to provide better arch support, ideal for runners with over pronation; this reinforcement had already been seen in the previous edition, however in the Omni 16 it runs slightly forward to better adapt to the arch area and improve stability and support.

On the inside there is a rubber insole which complements the cushioning and offers comfort to the foot; this insole is removable, so the runner can adjust the characteristics of the inside of the shoe according to his needs.

Outer sole

Saucony

The XT-900 compound continues to be used in the soles, which is a high quality material made of carbon rubber. Thanks to its qualities, this material protects the midsole from abrasive asphalt conditions while providing excellent traction.

The flex grooves located in the forefoot are maintained to allow the sole to flex properly and provide a better grip of the shoe during ground contact. The support pads placed in the heel section that could be seen in the previous edition have been removed to improve traction.

With some changes that promise to make the shoes more functional without giving up support and comfort, the Saucony Omni 16 is expected to remain an excellent choice in running shoes for overpronators, adding versatility to use them wherever we go.
