Year 2017

The Puma Ignite Netfit are Running shoes that represent a leap in quality for the German company. The innovation is obvious, and, of course, the mesh, in the form of a net, which contributes to a more personalized fit, catches the eye. Puma has focused on responding to the different fit needs of each runner, according to the characteristics of their own footprint. An aspect that makes the Puma Ignite Netfit offer something different from its competitors.

Features of the Puma Ignite Netfit upper

We'll start by talking about the upper of the Puma Ignite Netfit, as this is its most notable and outstanding aspect. The upper is made with evoKNIT technology. This consists of a very fabric-like material that adapts to the contours of the feet to provide a comfortable fit.

On top of this material is the main innovation of the shoe, the Netfit system. This is a mesh or net that covers the entire upper of the shoe and helps to improve the fit. This net is attached directly to the laces of the shoe, so every time the lacing is modified, the fit of the upper is modified.

Thanks to the total covering of the upper with this net, the lacing mesh can be moved to any position, which allows an unparalleled adaptation to the runner's foot. Thus, Puma offers the possibility of five lacing options for the shoes:

  • Standard: For those who need minimal support.
  • Heel support: This lacing position emphasizes heel support to prevent slippage.
  • Thin Feet: The laces are adjusted from the midfoot section to better fit those with thin feet.
  • Wide Feet: The laces are adjusted one hole higher than the standard size, providing more room in the midfoot area for those with wide feet.
  • Stability: The lacing on the outside of the shoe remains in the standard position, while on the inside, the laces are adjusted in the midfoot, allowing the arch area to receive better support.

These features of the upper make the Puma Ignite Netfit provide better support and greater security during the race.

Puma Ignite Netfit Midsole

The midsole of the Puma Ignite Netfit uses the characteristic Ignite rubber, as the name suggests. This rubber offers good cushioning and comfort, but also has a good degree of rebound to provide a more energetic and dynamic toe-off phase. The shoe has a 6-millimeter drop, which maintains excellent contact with the surface. However, without sacrificing the protection that the sole of the foot needs during long-distance races.

Outsole of the Puma Ignite Netfit

The soles of the Puma Ignite Netfit feature EverTRACK+ technology to ensure good traction and durability. This rubber is placed in the most wear-prone areas to prevent the soles from asphalt abrasion. A blown rubber is used on the rest of the sole of the shoe, which, thanks to its softer characteristics, allows the shoe to offer greater flexibility. Not to mention that the shoe also includes certain flex grooves at strategic points. In addition to this, the blown rubber contributes to the cushioning.

Innovative and functional, the new Puma Ignite Netfit shoes allow for a perfect fit that adapts to all types of feet, and provide a more comfortable and secure running experience, offering protection and support right in the areas where the runner needs it most.
