Year 2017

The Nike Zoom Streak 6 is an exceptionally versatile racing shoe. They possess just enough cushioning for long runs and much more responsiveness than you might think for fast sessions where speed is important. The improvements Nike has made to this sixth edition regarding materials, the addition of a midfoot support plate and an internal wrap for the midfoot as well, allow them to offer runners a better fit and a more comfortable feel.

Nike has incorporated important changes in this shoe, the most apparent is the elimination of the Flywire Cables support that was located on the sides, this after its prototypes gave such varied results in elite athletes. As a replacement for these laces, Nike has opted for an inner wrap in the midfoot area, which is able to offer security without the likelihood of hurting the foot that caused the excess pressure of the cables.

Upper features

The upper of the Streak 6 is crafted primarily from Flymesh mesh and some welded overlays. Nike uses this mesh thanks to the fact that it provides good support, support and flexibility to runners' feet, while also providing excellent ventilation.

To give the shoes better support and security, a new inner strap has been added in the arch area. This better accommodated support reduces the risk of chafing, particularly for those who like fast and aggressive running. Although the tongue is quite thin as in most racing shoes, it is made of a well-padded material to prevent chafing. The collar is also adequately padded.

Midsole

For the midsole of the Nike Zoom Streak 6 running shoes, Phylon rubber is used which has been laid down in a single layer. This rubber is manufactured using EVA rubber capsules that are heated and then cooled, resulting in a firmer rubber, with which we will be able to notice a more energetic run thanks to the rebound provided by the shoe.

To give runners more cushioning in the heel area, an Air Zoom unithas been placed, which is also responsible for much of the Zoom Streak 6's shock absorption. A new addition to the midsole is the Pebax support that adds structure and rigidity to the shoe; this support also allows for better responsiveness and makes the foot transition faster and more efficient.

Outsole

The outsole of the Streak 6 is mainly made of a variety of hexagonal configurations of different sizes, combined with deep flex grooves, which facilitate multidirectional traction and offer freedom of movement. Nike covers the heel with a harder carbon rubber that offers increased durability, while the rest of the outsole is mainly blown rubber for added grip on different surfaces.

The fit on the Nike Zoom Streak 6 running shoes has been slightly modified from the previous model. Because this shoe has a fabric based on the anatomy of the foot, there is more room in the forefoot area for the toes to move. The heel has an excellent fit without being restrictive while the midfoot remains fairly snug. Runners with narrow or medium feet will be most comfortable in these shoes.

With the Streak 6, Nike plans to surprise its fans with the delivery of a speedy running shoe, but one that we can also use on long distance runs, with an optimal fit that will make us feel totally comfortable.
