The truth is that comparing models, this Nike Free RN Motion Flyknit 2 does not include many new features to what we already saw in its original version, because it can be said that the main features remain practically the same both in its midsole and outsole. And all this on the technological level, because the design does vary significantly.
Although there is a certain conceptual change that makes this running shoe everything but a running shoe. But only in appearance. Its semi-bootie structure is made more palpable by the addition of a higher ankle cuff. Such a change results in this model gaining more comfort and fit for a higher level of support.
Speaking of support, one of the most noticeable changes in the Free RN Motion Flyknit 2 is that the lacing system disappears completely, and in its place is a velcro system as an effective closure system. The result is that the upper is constructed in one piece, which improves the fit, elasticity and adaptation of the shoe to the runner's foot. At the same time, it allows to further lighten the weight of the model.
In a way, and just by looking at them, they have a certain similarity to the innovative Nike LunarEpic Flyknit. These new Free RN Motion Flyknit 2 from Nike Running allow to move in all directions, favoring the torsion and flexion of the model.
For all these reasons, these Nike Free RN Motion Flyknit 2 are very close to the concept of a manimalist running shoe, but without giving up a very good cushioning (Lunarlon). Designed for runners with neutral stride, rather light weight (no more than 65 kilos), and distances up to half marathon.
From fast to somewhat slower paces, hence this running shoe has technical specifications of 4 millimeters drop and 176 grams, a real featherweight. However, the runner who wants to wear them should keep in mind that this model will require a certain refined running technique.
