Year 2017

Included in the new Fuel collection, New Balance presents one of the great novelties of the season: the innovative NB FuelCell v1. A first version that comes to stay, and with the firm purpose of being one of the references for the fastest runners, thanks to its two main hallmarks: speed and responsiveness.

It can be said that the new FuelCell v1 comes to fill the gap of the NB Vazee 2090 model, although it maintains key aspects such as optimal cushioning and superior upper quality, in order to offer the best running experience to the athlete.

Key points of New Balance FuelCell v1

  • Propulsion: Designed to propel the athlete from 0 to 60.
  • Efficiency: Reduces hang time, so runners can move more efficiently with each stride.
  • Durability: Injects performance consistently time after time.
  • Lightweight: Lighter, more resilient sole design, minimizing contact time.
  • Dynamic Support.

Undoubtedly among the most relevant technological advances of the FuelCell v1 is its new midsole. This incorporates the cutting-edge FuelCell technology - as its name suggests - along the entire length of the shoe, whose mission is none other than to maximize propulsion and speed. Thus, the midsole of the New Balance FuelCell is composed of two pieces: one compression molded, and combined with another piece of TPU fused with nitrogen. For practical purposes, and in the field, this technology contributes to a more reactive and resistant running experience, but always with the base of optimizing speed.

On the upper, the NB FuelCell v1 uses dynamic materials, mixed with transparent overlays. The result is none other than a unique and exclusive aesthetic, but also a more aggressive fit, and one that doesn't lose an ounce of comfort, as it acts as a wrap in the midfoot area. Maximum comfort for a more reactive and faster run.

In terms of technical specifications, the FuelCell v1 has lower heights than the NB Vazee 2090. That is, 10 mm in the forefoot area and 16 mm in the heel area. They also have a low profile with a drop of 6 millimeters, and weights of approximately 295 grams for the men's version, and about 255 grams for the women's model.
