The Mizuno Wave Rider 23 is presented as one of the most anticipated releases of the year, because we are talking about one of the flagships of the Japanese brand for runners / as neutral tread, and that is aimed at athletes of all levels, from experienced to beginners, and also optimized for all types of distances: short, medium and long.

Compared to previous editions, the Mizuno Wave Rider 23 brings few but very relevant changes. The goal is to make this top cushioning running shoe a more versatile model for a wider audience, reducing its weight and looking for more dynamic and fluid transitions. And that, no doubt, also means making the model more comfortable in every kilometer of running.

From the commitment to a permanent evolution, the designers of the Osaka firm have preserved the iconic "Rider Feel", Mizuno's trademark, which has been providing the best running experience to the runner for more than two decades. The latest update of the iconic Rider, thechanges come in the upper with a renewed upper and an innovative outsole.

In other Mizuno Running shoes, perhaps, it could be questioned, but to date, and in the Wave Rider saga remains something non-negotiable. So the Mizuno Wave Rider 23 maintains the brand's characteristic features, presenting that perfect combination of cushioning and stability.

In this sense, the joint work of the most advanced materials of Mizuno, read Wave technology, U4iC and U4icX both in the midsole and in the heel, favors that well-cushioned tread also feel more comfortable, fluid and dynamic. And these Wave Rider 23 also follow the path marked in the Mizuno Wave Rider 22 of being a more reactive model.

Thanks to the dual density CloudWave system in the midsole, the foot is more centered and also guides it in the landing phase, dispersing the impact. As noted, the result is more stability and better cushioning in each stride.

Aiming to make it a more flexible running shoe, this Mizuno Wave Rider 23 implements a greater number of flex cutsboth in the forefoot and in its lateral area. Also present here is Mizuno s Smooth Ride concept to better manage the acceleration and deceleration phase of the foot, thus contributing to a smoother ride from heel to toe.

New features of the Mizuno Wave Rider 23

Since the anniversary of the Mizuno Wave Rider 20, the model that marked a before and after in this successful family, the designers of the Japanese firm have focused many of their efforts on improving its design, fit and comfort to give it a more minimalist accent, and allow it to be on a par with other best-selling models such as the Nike Pegasus 35, for example.

Thus, these Wave Rider 23 from Mizuno use that successful resource ofcombining engineered mesh (Engenireed Mesh) and DynamotionFit technology, whose mission is to improve the fit and adjustment. With these premises on the table, the concept of double mesh is more efficient, because it fulfills the functions of stretching and supporting depending on the intensity.

To all this, it must be said that the whole construction of the upper helps these Wave Rider 23 tobe lighter, and even below the 300 grams weight barrier. The official weight on Mizuno s website is 290 grams for the men's model and 240 grams for the women's version. And it is also important to note that the level of breathability goes up a notch in the shoe, which allows temperature control, and therefore favors a higher performance in each workout.

What is more significant are the changes introduced in the lacing system of the shoe. In this part of the shoe, the eyelets are made from thermo-sealing, and vary in position more laterally than frontally. Also, the laces are flat, which undoubtedly contributes to the more precise fit.

On the outsole, the Mizuno Wave Rider 23 is unchanged from the previous edition, keeping the same pattern and flex grooves, and of course, including the solid X10 compound that improves the shoe's durability and traction.

The Mizuno Waver Rider 23's bet is clearly clear, if the initial idea is to wear a truly versatile running shoe for all kinds of distances, and that allows you to move at paces between 4:30 to 5:30min/km, ensuring cushioning, stability, reactivity and dynamism.
