Year 2017

The firm Joma has gradually gained its position in the preference of many athletes in various sports, however, in the campo of running there were still some hearts to conquer; this has changed thanks to the incorporation of trail running shoes Joma Olimpo, which are added to the catalog of the firm as an option in which the quality far exceeds its very affordable price.

The shoes are designed for competition on terrain of maximum difficulty and at first glance you can see that the midsole is designed with a fairly substantial cushioning layer. The design chosen is quite striking, with modern colors and combinations that will not go unnoticed.

Features of the Joma Olimpo upper

The mesh that makes up the upper of these shoes has very small holes that prevent loose material or dust from entering the inside of the shoe. Since the mesh is so dense, one might think that ventilation would be affected, but this is not the case with the Joma Olimpo, since the material allows air to pass through. Another aspect that adds points to this upper is that it provides good waterproofing, so we can use the shoes in wet conditions, even in the rain without the feet being affected.

The design of these shoes is quite roomy, runners with wide feet will really enjoy how the inside of these shoes fit, however for runners with slim feet this can be a bit of a problem and it will be more convenient to opt for half a size less.

The shoes are closed with a round lacing system, these laces are attached to the upper by means of small eyelets like a ribbon. It is important to note that these eyelets are only attached to the upper without any system that attaches them to the sides of the shoe, so when the shoe is closed, the fit is only achieved in the instep area and because the shoe is quite roomy, this could cause the foot to move around inside.

Otherwise, the collar and tongue offer good protection and fit to the foot; in the case of the tongue it is covered with a nylon material that keeps out rocks or dust.

Midsole

The midsole of the Joma Olimpo is made of Phylon rubber which offers good cushioning; with its 10mm drop the surface is sturdy enough to keep the foot comfortable even on the toughest terrain and will keep the shoes comfortable especially for medium to long distances and for runners with medium weight and upwards with a tendency to impact first with the heel area.

The Full Dual Pulsor technology helps the shoes provide greater shock absorption, mainly on the most uneven terrain, this is how the shoes achieve a comfortable and pleasant feel that is neither too soft nor too hard.

Joma Olimpo Outsole

Thanks to their flat design the soles of these shoes are able to offer good stability on different types of terrain. The lugs are quite aggressive and are placed in different directions to provide better grip and braking. The lugs perform well on both loose dirt and wet terrain, and are even capable of delivering a good run on asphalt, a detail that not all trail running shoes can boast of.

Although the fit is a point that could be improved, the performance of these shoes gives them a good performance in trail running, even if we use them in the most difficult terrain.
