Year 2013

The Joma Marathon R4000 have taken advantage of this start 2018 to present their new update, which include improvements but always maintaining the essence of being a model to run fast, and able to adapt to the long distance, and as its own name indicates to the mythical marathon. It is the flying running shoe from Joma Sport, and whose main novelty is that it has increased its cushioning capacity to run more safely without sacrificing speed.

Joma Marathon R4000, flying shoe with increased cushioning

Among the key points of the renewed Joma Marathon R4000 is its midsole, made with a spongy Phylon upper material, which increases the cushioning sensation in each stride, to which we must add the EVA compound so that the model gains in reactivity. The implementation of the PVC plate from the midfoot to the forefoot also has a lot to do with this, as this resource favors a greater impulse in each stride cycle.

It should not be forgotten that these Joma Marathon R4000 also include the Spanish company's exclusive Stabilis system in the sole. This TPU piece, which is placed in the narrowest area of the shoe, has the mission of offering firmness and stability in lateral movements, thus reducing unnecessary turns in the heel and forefoot area.

More flexible, comfortable upper with improved fit

Speaking of the upper, the Joma Marathon R4000 combines two materials such as TPU and nylon with the idea of offering greater resistance. To maximize the comfort and adaptability of this competition model, the designers of the brand from Toledo have incorporated a FOAM foam inside the ankle, but also the Joma Sportech system, made of injected rubber, is designed to eliminate seams and additional rigid materials.

In this way, these Marathon R4000 stand out for presenting a more flexible, comfortable structure, with a better fit, and even with a reduced weight. It also includes VTS technology that improves the breathability of the model, and a pre-molded EVA insole for a better adaptation to the foot.

The characteristic Flexo system is mounted on the rubber outsole, and through these ergonomically arranged flex grooves, the transition from rear to forefoot is greatly improved.

In the technical specifications chapter, the Joma Marathon R4000 have a drop of 8 millimeters and an approximate weight of 241 grams. Although we are talking about a flying running shoe, the truth is that this Marathon R4000 can also be classified asa mixed model, suitable for quality training and series, as well as to compete in all kinds of distances up to marathon, as we said, but as long as we enjoy a refined running technique.
