Year 2016

ASICS ' mountain runner-specific portfolio is expanding, and it's doing so in a big way. Following tests conducted at its exclusive Institute of Sport and Science in Kobe (Japan), in which it has collaborated with trail runners and coaches, a new model of trail running shoe has seen the light of day: the ASICS Gel-FujiEndurance.

The new top-of-the-range model for running in the mountains, with a wide range of features that make it the perfect choice for demanding events such as long-distance, ultras, and even long-distance training with a high volume of kilometers.

Outstanding technologies in the ASICS Gel-FujiEndurance

The various technologies of the ASICS Gel-FujiEndurance allow it to position itself as an all-terrain shoe, capable of adapting to any surface. In this regard, the award-winning Plasmaguard component - best footwear component of 2016 with the Gold Award at the ISPO International Trade Fair in Munich stands out above the rest. It appears in the lining of the entire shoe. It is nothing less than an excellent water and moisture repellent, which ensures that the foot remains dry at all times, and thus the runner avoids annoying irritations.

In addition, this innovation from the Japanese company also helps the upper to shed mud from the heaviest and roughest terrain. And the good thing about all this is that the flexibility and breathability of the model are not compromised.

Other highlights that the ASICS Gel-FujiEndurance brings with it are:

  • Comfordry X-40 insole that provides enhanced cushioning, comfort and antibacterial treatment.
  • External Heel Counter that provides stability. In addition to having another stabilizing component in the forefoot area.
  • GEL plates in the rear area for shock absorption and enhance cushioning.
  • Outsole with specific traction for trail. Strategically positioned, the cleats in the front area are designed for tackling steep slopes and inclines. While the lugs in the rear are larger, which offers better contact with the terrain.
  • Anti-rock protection plate.

The ASICS Gel-FujiEndurance trail shoes are available for both men and women. Regarding its technical specifications, this new shoe weighs 335 grams for the men's version, and 278 grams for the women's model, with a drop of 8 millimeters.
