Year 2017

Designed to provide the technologies needed to tackle road racing, the ASICS fuzeX Lyte 2 is a combination of comfort, speed and cushioning. Thanks to their design, the shoes are ideal for runners with neutral or supinator footsteps, for daily training or short distance races.

In this second edition of the shoes we will see a revamped upper to provide better ventilation, while maintaining the rest of the features, such as the use of Fuzegel technology in the midsole, which helps provide better cushioning to the shoes and better response during the race.

Upper features

As we have mentioned, the main change in this shoe is in the upper, this time we use a single mesh that covers most of the upper of the shoe, except for the heel. Thanks to this fabric we get an upper that fits better to the foot and provides better ventilation.

The construction continues to be seamless to provide an libre environment for the feet, ideal for wearing the shoes even without socks. In the heel area a reinforcement is still used, this time made of a padded textile that better secures the foot inside the shoe.

The collar and tongue maintain generous padding that allows the shoe to fit more comfortably to our feet.

Midsole

As in the previous edition, the midsole uses the FuzeGel technology developed by ASICS; it is a material that provides greater lightness without sacrificing cushioning. The main feature of this rubber used in the midsole is that it can adapt to the pressure that the foot exerts, thus achieving good cushioning for the heel in the landing phase and excellent energy return in the forefoot area that helps make the take-off phase smoother.

With a drop of 8 millimeters, these shoes provide sufficient cushioning for asphalt surfaces, also allowing for adequate ground feel.

Outsole

The outsoles of the ASICS fuzeX Lyte 2 use AHAR rubber, which has been used by the firm in the vast majority of its recent shoe editions thanks to its high abrasion resistance that provides greater durability to the shoe.

This rubber provides a sufficient amount of traction when running on asphalt surfaces, but will also be able to adapt to uneven terrain of lesser difficulty. Another advantage of this rubber is that it offers durability in the areas most prone to wear, resisting damage caused by contact with asphalt or prolonged use.

Fit

In relation to the fit, the characteristics of the previous edition are maintained. These shoes are better adapted to runners with narrow feet. It is important to mention that the fit of these shoes can be up to half a size narrower than the standard sizes, so runners with wide feet may need to go up to two sizes above their traditional size to achieve a proper fit.

In conclusion, we can say that the ASICS fuzeX Lyte 2 is a lightweight, cushioned and flexible shoe that provides the necessary comfort for neutral and supinator runners during daily workouts.
