TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45

The Connected Modular 45 is the latest attempt made by Swiss luxury watch brand TAG Heuer, to create a fashionable wristwatch while providing the same functionality as Android Wear smart devices.

The Tag Heuer Connected Modular 45 is a collaboration between the Swiss company, Intel and Google; the main feature that makes this watch stand out is in the central module that allows to exchange some components for purely mechanical replacements to transform it into a "conventional watch"; in addition this model is customizable, it allows the user to exchange the straps.

Design

Smart watches are not always designed with a focus on fashion, but the Connected Modular 45 has exactly that: style, design and elegance, hence it is not one of the cheapest on the market; this model is priced around € 1,500, although there are other higher priced designs with embedded diamonds. Among the outstanding features of this watch is the presence of the Intel Atom Z34XX chipset, this chip is capable of running applications quickly, on this device it is possible to run some simple games and applications such as Uber; it also has a storage space of 4GB.

It also allows Wi-fi connections, Bluetooth, GPS and NFC connectivity which allows you to use Android Pay to make payments directly from your wrist, the missing element in this watch is the heart rate tracker, but users will be able to use the Google Fit app to monitor physical activities such as:

• Running
• Riding a bike
• Climbing stairs, among other activities.

The app also has settings for some challenges to perform squats, sit-ups and push-ups; the user chooses a difficulty level and the app provides an example diagram and then keeps a counter of the repetitions performed.

Compatibility

The watch and its functions are compatible with most modern smartphones running Android 43 software, plus the user will be able to have all the apps available for Android Wear 2 .0.

For those who use iOS, the watch is compatible with all iOS 9 or higher devices, in order to connect it it will be necessary to download and install Android Wear and then perform the manual connection process.

Users of applications such as Uber, Runtastic and Strava will be able to access parameters specially designed for Android Wear 2.0.

As for the battery, it has been proven that it can last a full day with normal use, plus the watch is easy to recharge.
