A handcrafted process in design, testing and production to create a different product. This is the new Suunto Traverse, a watch designed for lovers of libre activities such as hiking and trekking. The Finnish brand has opted for a robust and contemporary watch, which combines traditional outdoor functions with GPS-GLONASS navigation. All this is reinforced with a renewed catalog of topographic maps, available in Suunto Movescount, which has the ultimate goal of facilitating route planning. Thus, Suunto Traverse offers an enhanced navigation experience.

"In the past, libre adventure era almost synonymous with difficult expeditions or high mountain climbing. Today, a new generation of men and women outdoor enthusiasts surge, representing a shift towards greater accessibility of adventures, focusing on enjoyment and new experiences," explains Petteri Hernelahti, head of Suuntos outdoor business line. "With Suunto Traverse we want to help outdoor enthusiasts gain the confidence to explore. With Suunto Traverse we have focused primarily on ease of use, as we want to eliminate obstacles and uncertainties that could interfere with enjoying adventures," he adds.

Highly accurate measurements

One of the Suunto Traverse 's strengths is not only its ease of use, but also its quick access to basic functions. In addition, this watch is capable of supporting GPS and GLONASS satellite navigation systems. Although to use the latter system will have to wait for future software updates.

With the unique FusedAlti? measurement system, which combines barometric altitude with GPS altitude, accuracy is remarkable in variables such as total ascent, altitude and vertical speed. In addition, storm alerts are indicated by vibration, lowering the noise level.

And two small details of great relevance. First, the Suunto Traverse 's backlight doubles as a high-powered flashlight for consulting maps in the dark. And the second, the automatic "breadcrumb" track, a very useful feature for hikers who need to retrace their steps.

Activity level tracking

Another interesting feature of the Suunto Traverse lies in the activity level tracking, as a quantifier, the user will be able to know the number of steps accumulated and calorie consumption.

It is also important to note that this GPS watch is compatible with Suunto Movescount App, available on iOS and Android. Such compatibility offers the possibility to manage incoming calls, text messages and smartphone notifications.

Regarding its aesthetics, the Suunto Traverse features a streamlined design, adjustable to all wrists. The composite case is lightweight, while the stainless steel upper face serves to protect the slightly recessed display. And as a finishing touch, the Suunto Traverse comes in three color options: black, white and amber.
