The first impression you get when you see the adidas Response Cushion 22 in electric color and careful design, is of robustness, perhaps because of the external heel support or the side reinforcements, but once on the foot that feeling is transformed into comfort.

A very comfortable, stable and lightweight shoe.

A few kilometers are enough to prove that these are indeed very comfortable, stable and light shoes. Weighs 325 grams. You notice how it wraps around the foot and the inner lining is very pleasant to the touch. The Adiprene that extends throughout the midsole, combined with the Formotion technology (Reduces the angle of deflection,
Reduces the speed of pronation, Reduces knee loads) in the heel provides security.

On the run...

In the stride, the transition between the heel and the instep is very fast and you feel how quickly you push off with the forefoot. You feel an extra push in the forefoot and the tightening system that separates the heel from the instep provides support in the midfoot. I tend to step with the midfoot/forefoot first and these shoes offer very good cushioning if you have a similar running form. You notice that the metatarsals are protected. A more cushioned first layer is mounted on top of a firmer one that provides more comfort and stability in the stride.

Who do we recommend it to?

Encourages fast running so it could be a good choice as a racing or series shoe for athletes between 70 and 80 kilos. For lighter runners it is an excellent choice for fast training but also for long runs. It cushions without giving the false sensation of cushioning the foot. Added to this is good ventilation and breathability due to the perforated mesh upper.

How about the outsole?

The outsole is very grippy and provides a secure grip even in the rain. It has the design of a racing shoe sole due to the micro grooves in the front part. At first glance it seems that they can not last long and will soon wear out, but with 250 kilometers they are still intact and it seems that durability is also guaranteed.

To sum up

The Adidas Response Cushion 22, suitable for neutral or slightly supinator runners. It is, in my opinion, an ideal shoe for the average/advanced runner who wants to run fast; for a very experienced athlete it might be too light to do many kilometers and heavy for racing or series.
