Microsoft Band 2, the second generation of the activity wristband manufactured by Bill Gates' company will soon hit the markets with new improvements in terms of functionality and a completely renewed design, resembling the Samsung Gear Fit and leaving behind the somewhat prison-like aesthetics of the predecessor Microsoft Band.

In the absence of official confirmation from the American company based in Redmond -it will do so during a keynote on October 6-, leaks about the new device codenamed 'Envoy' have already seen the light, as published by the Spanish website MicrosoftInsider.es.

The most striking thing about the second version of this activity wristband is the new design, much more avant-garde compared to the first generation. Unlike the first Microsoft Band, this time the screen has been curved so that it fits much more ergonomically to the wrist. For its part, the front panel has a metallic finish and has physical buttons on the sides.

If buying the Microsoft Band outside the U.S. is a real odyssey, the second generation of the quantifying bracelet will reach a wider range of markets including Spain, Germany, France and Italy, according to the Microsoft Insider website.

Anyway, we will have to wait until next October 6 to know all the details regarding hardware, operating system - it is speculated that it could host Windows 10 inside -, availability and price of the new Microsoft Band 2
