Suunto 's flagship watch and world's No. 1 outdoor watch adds heart rate monitor to its menu of features featuring an advanced wristop computer optimal for improving performance on libre adventures.

The new Vector Heart Rate was launched on October 3 and 4 at the Cavalls del Vent 80 km race, where Suunto was the official timekeeper.

The new Suunto Vector HR is a tool designed for peak performance, whether you're in the mountains or training for the climb. It combines functionalities such as altimeter, barometer, compass and now also heart rate monitor, features that make the Vector Heard Rate an advanced sports watch that provides all the information needed to make responsible decisions in large vertical spaces.

The addition of the heart rate monitor is the most important new feature of the Suunto Vector HR, which is accompanied by the heart rate belt, the Suunto Comfort Belt, a flexible but well-fitting belt thanks to the inner silicone bands. Its slim length adjustment buckles minimize the risk of friction and abrasions for uninterrupted training.

Environmental control and maximum performance

When it comes to libre activities like climbing, it's not just the external conditions that matter: what's happening inside your body can mean the difference between a great adventure or an unpleasant experience. So Suunto Vector HR's HR zone alarms (?) provide an objective measurement of exertion, whether it's a long, steady run or short, energy-intensive intervals in the gym, allowing you to see the physiological impact of both altitude and vertical speed of movement and to pace your training for the best results.

The 14 eight-thousanders of the world can be a great challenge to achieve with the Suunto Vector HR, as its altimeter has a range of up to 9,000 meters. The barometer function helps the hiker to always be ahead of the storm thanks to the weather trend indication and the ability to interpret changes in barometric pressure.

The digital compass with spirit level provides accurate readings to within 3 degrees. It can be set to follow a particular path and graphically displays the difference between that heading and the current heading, which together with the declination adjustment function is a valuable tool to help the hiker regain their bearings after minor or major deviations in the terrain.

The Suunto Vector libre watch has already become a flagship instrument among libre enthusiasts. Moreover, at its launch in 1999 it won the prestigious European Outdoor Product of the Year Award at the Outdoor Trade Fair in Friedrichshafen, Germany.
