The iconic ASICS Gel Lyte III shoe was originally launched in 1990, implementing since then the now famous gel cushioning system that has characterized the firm, which provides the shoes with maximum comfort and support for runners' feet. This shoe has also stood out for its unique design, with a tongue divided into two sections and a retro style that is now back in fashion.

The Gel Lyte III makes a combination of the best quality materials, from the classic combination of leather and mesh, to a waterproof suede upper. By reinforcing some key areas of the shoe, the company has achieved greater comfort that will allow runners to improve their performance.

For the construction of the upper, the company has made a varied choice of materials that provide durability and comfort. The shoe features a highly breathable mesh that keeps feet cool no matter how long the shoes are worn. Leather or suede overlays are used to enhance the structure of the shoe, which offer increased durability in areas prone to wear and tear.

The lacing uses flat laces which allows for a more comfortable closure of the shoe; one of the distinguishing features of the ASICS Gel Lyte III is its split tongue, which is designed in two sections that meet in the center of the shoe and overlap, thus avoiding the slippage to the sides that occurs in shoes with traditional tongue, making the closure more secure and the laces do not hurt the foot. The collar and inner insole have been reinforced with a neoprene material which allows them to be more cushioned and provide the foot with a more comfortable environment when the shoes are closed, but without the shoe becoming too

Attractive look and cushioning

For the cushioning system, the shoes make use of ASICS' renowned Gel Cushioning system, which provides exceptional shock absorption, reducing the shock produced by the foot during contact with the surface by better distributing the energy and using it positively for the toe-off phase.

This gel cushioning system is specifically placed in the forefoot and heel to reduce impact on the two key areas of the runner's foot. This system also provides a better step transition, making the stride more efficient.

The rest of the midsole has a layer of EVA rubber, which provides a comfortable surface for the foot during running, helping to reduce the impact of contact with the ground.

Soles

The soles have a design that modifies according to the foot area, thus favoring flexibility and traction as needed. The rubber offers good resistance to wear and has a good grip on asphalt surfaces, although a little more traction on wet surfaces is missing.

Inspired by retro styling, the ASICS Gel Lyte III shoes return to the company's lineup, incorporating technologies that the company has developed over the years, making them more functional and comfortable, ideal for entry-level runners or those looking for a training shoe that provides excellent comfort.
