In this third version of the shoe, the design has been completely renewed to offer greater comfort, protection and efficiency while running in the mountains. Here we explain all the details.

Main features and innovations of the SCOTT Kinabalu 3

SCOTT launches the third version of a shoes that represents one of the most solid bets of the brand and incorporates some of the most outstanding technologies.

The shoe, like the SCOTT Kinabalu 2, features a pronounced rocker design, and an evolution in the Evolved Rocker 2 (ER2) that is based on years of research and development by the brand.

The new rocker features a new advanced understanding of biomechanical principles to promote a more dynamic running position, reducing heel strike and increasing running efficiency. In short, with the new version, we will be able to run faster for longer and expend less energy.

The midsole of the shoe features one of the technologies developed by the brand, the Scott Kinetic Foam, a lightweight and highly reactive foam. This technology returns 14% more energy than standard EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate), resulting in a smooth but stable and more dynamic ride, thus recovering more energy to run faster for longer.

The shoe also incorporates an Ortholite Ultra midsole for extra comfort and cushioning, with antibacterial properties to prevent unpleasant odors.

The outsole adapts to a wide range of different types of terrain, from the easiest to the most complicated and technically difficult, thanks to the new redesign of the lugs that optimizes contact with the surface and improves traction.

As for the technical specifications of the shoe, it has a 7 mm drop, with profiles of 295 in the rear and 225 in the front part of the shoe.

Ideal profile of the SCOTT Kinabalu 3

It is a shoe that adapts to a wide profile of runners, that yes, we are facing a fast shoe with those who enjoy a better running technique can take full advantage of the benefits of the technologies that incorporates the shoe.

It is an ideal shoe for light to medium weight trail runners (over 75 kg), allowing them to run faster than in the previous version over a wide range of terrain.

Recommended distances of the SCOTT Kinabalu 3

Regarding the distances that we can run with the Scott Kinabalu 3, being a fast and versatileshoe, it will defend itself well in the middle distance, yes, the more technical runners will be able to train or compete in longer distances, but if they are popular runners, the middle distance is ideal to enjoy the shoe.

In terms of weight, this shoe weighs 300 grams in the men's version and 270 grams in the women's version.

In short, we are facing a reformulation of one of the flagship shoes of the brand that will allow us to run and enjoy the mountain trails with greater reactivity and comfort than the previous version and that, by highlighting its versatility, we believe it can be one of the surprises of the season.
